Hi, I’m Dr. Harrison, founder of Geaux Guidance, and I serve as an independent college access coach and literacy consultant. 

I have a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a concentration in reading, and I have eight years of experience as a classroom teacher, including time spent teaching English II. My background has given me a strong foundation in writing instruction, academic preparation, and student support. 

While working as a college access counselor, I guided high-achieving, first-generation students through every stage of the college application process. During that year, I helped 38 students gain admission to top-tier colleges and universities, and through that work, I’ve seen firsthand how impactful the right support can be.

I created Geaux Guidance Independent Education Consulting to offer personalized, culturally responsive services to students and families navigating the college admissions journey. Whether you need help building a college list, writing a personal statement, completing financial aid forms, or managing deadlines, I’m here to provide guidance and meaningful encouragement. 

In addition, I partner with schools and districts to strengthen literacy instruction in grades 3–5 through curriculum support, teacher professional development, and strategies that help all students thrive. I specialize in offering culturally relevant teaching strategies that connect literacy instruction to students’ lived experiences. By centering culturally responsive practices, I help educators support marginalized populations while ensuring all students make meaningful strides in ELA.
