MEET THE TEAM

Years in FIRST

Team Members

Rookies this year

We are a FIRST Tech Challenge team based in York, PA and founded in 2014. We are a school team made up of students in grades 9 through 12 from York Country Day School.

GearHounds members not only learn engineering, programming, strategy, business, and networking skills through hands-on experience but learn about working as a team and Gracious Professionalism as well.

The GearHounds have competed at the FIRST World Championships (2018) and have competed at the Pennsylvania State Championships for the past 6 consecutive years.

As a proud member of the FIRST community, our GearHounds family seeks to reach out and inspire others to participate in the STEM field. We have hosted multiple scrimmage competitions, mentored local FLL teams in the York area, and have helped with several fundraising campaigns.

Captains

This is my ninth year participating in FIRST Robotics Programs and my fifth year participating in FTC. I am a junior this season. I was previously part of team 10333 Techspark, as well as the FRC team 225 Techfire. I find my love of robotics peaks when participating in strategy, mechanical, and on the field with the drive team. I have had an enduring interest in engineering ever since I began to apply the Engineering Design Process in FLL Jr. Since then I have worked endlessly to understand and learn more about Engineering. However, not only do I participate in robotics, but in soccer, tennis, and theater as well. I am also an avid Star Wars fan.

This is my ninth and last year participating in FIRST programs, and my fourth season taking part in FIRST Tech Challenge. I am a senior this year. I used to participate on the FIRST Lego League team at our school, and I just returned from FTC team 19427, RoboMasterminds. I like designing, programming, and operating robots, and this season, I want to improve my Java skills. Outside of school, I like traveling, playing video games, and spending time with my family and dog.

This is my third year participating in robotics, since I joined during my freshman year of high school. I am a junior this season. I recently enrolled in a college level CS course at York College of Pennsylvania, which then peaked my interest in FTC. I love programming and I wish to progress my coding knowledge this year. Apart from robotics, I participate in basketball and theater. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, playing sports, and spending time with my family and dog

This is my second year on the FTC team, but this would be my 7th year in the FIRST Robotics program. I am a sophomore and I am 15 years old. I wanted to learn about different ways to code technology and get the experience for later in life. I am an introverted person. I enjoy watching anime, playing games, and building things in my room.
