GearGuard privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
GearGuard is a Chrome extension that helps Salesforce teams review pull requests stored in Azure DevOps.
What GearGuard handles
To work, GearGuard uses information you provide or that your browser already holds: your Azure DevOps organization, project and repository names; an Azure DevOps personal access token; your existing Salesforce session for the org you select; and the pull request, branch, file and metadata content it reads from Azure DevOps and Salesforce.
Where it goes
GearGuard sends this information only to Azure DevOps (dev.azure.com) and to the Salesforce org you select, to perform the actions you request. GearGuard has no server, and the developer receives none of your data. GearGuard contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.
What is stored
Your settings (such as environments, branch names, options and recent searches) are stored in your browser. Your Azure DevOps token is kept in session storage and is removed when you close Chrome. Temporary comparison results used to open the full-diff window are also kept in session storage and removed with it. Nothing is stored outside your browser.
What GearGuard changes
GearGuard reads data by default. Only when you click, and only if Azure DevOps confirms your account has permission, it can create a commit on a pull request's source branch (original-commit cleanup, Remove from PR, Named Credential placeholder). It never deploys to Salesforce.
Sharing
We do not sell, share or transfer your data to anyone.
Your control
Remove the extension to delete all its stored data. You can revoke your Azure DevOps token at any time in Azure DevOps.
