Parents and Students,
On September 15th, GEAR UP will be taking 30 seniors for a campus tour of UNM and then going to the College and Career day at the NM State Fair. During our visit to the State Fair, there will be college representatives from institutes around the state to help students with entrance applications.
If students are interested in attending, please have them get a permission slip from Mr. Miera in the GEAR UP office at EVHS. The first 30 students to turn in a permission slip will get to attend the trip.
In order for students to attend they cannot have any Fs in their classes and they have to be in good standing with their attendance.
If a student attends this trip, then other students will get priority for our other college visits for the year.

The College and Career Readiness Bureau (CCRB) of the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) launched the Summer Enrichment Internship Program. The federal government has committed more than $9.89 million for the program as part of pandemic relief efforts. Under the program, funding is available to cover the cost of summer internships for current New Mexico high school students in June-September of 2021 only. The goal is to provide high school students with the opportunity to participate in high-quality internships (20 hours per week for 6 weeks) in government agencies, including county, tribal, and/or municipal placements. We recommend that you encourage your county manager/tribal leader to participate in the program by applying for funding by May 5, 2021.
