Message

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all and more especially who are seeking admission in this temple of higher learning. Established in the year 2005, Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua a prominent, glorious and contemporary institution in district Kathua is committed to provide quality education to empower women to meet the challenge of a collaborative and competitive globalized environment and higher educational opportunities. Our mission is to provide value based education, with essential academic skills and career oriented opportunities to achieve long-term financial stability. We have beautiful college campus with adequate infrastructure like seminar hall, open air theatre, multipurpose hall, computer lab. with internet/ Wi-Fi facilities, well equipped science laboratories, digital class rooms and highly qualified staff. A new block consisting of four additional class rooms and a prefabricated structure comprising of two skill labs. is under construction and likely to be completed by the end of this year.

In addition to existing science, arts stream, the college is going to introduce new subject & streams including BCA, Food Science, Punjabi, History, and Music to make this institution a multidisciplinary in alignment with NEP 2020.

The college has an objective to provide training to young women to excel in professional and personal life, In this regard we trained about 30 students in CCC computer course in collaboration NIELET with an objective of providing quality education to the students. The college is planning to go for NAAC accreditation process by the end of this year to elevate the image of this institution in the global market.

We intend to provide ample opportunities to our students to make the fullest use of their potential and seek to instill them a passion for learning that will give wisdom, knowledge and understanding to them which require in the fastest emerging competitive world. I welcome you to this institution and hoping you will follow all the instructions regarding SOP guidelines during this COVID-19 pandemic. With continuous support guidance and encouragement from Higher Education Department, J&K (UT) Govt. and other stake holders, we hope to take this institution to new heights of academic excellence.
