“F2F classes, even in limited form, can mitigate the challenges of distance learning.”
– DepEd
The Department further enumerates reasons for the need of slowly going back to school in this new normal:
Face to Face classes can address the difficulty in monitoring and assessing learning progress remotely.
It can mitigate inequalities and unevenness in access to technology, household resources, and student skills for self-learning.
It can address the needs of learners with no adult in the family qualified to perform the role of a learning facilitator.
This modality can allow the resumption of activities that cannot be done at home, such as the workshop requirements in the TechVoc Track.
Students who are abroad and those in the provinces will be classified in ODL modality.
It is suggested that if the parents opt for pure Online Distance Learning (ODL) modality, this arrangement will be done for the whole year.
All learning activities shall be done through a learning platform, MS Teams.
The parents will serve as learning coaches/facilitators of the child at home.
Learning will be through asynchronous and synchronous online classes.
Students’ output and all academic requirements as well as assessment shall be facilitated at home with the supervision of the parents or guardians.
Classes will be done from Monday to Friday, preferably synchronous in the morning and asynchronous in the afternoon.
It is a combination of online and limited face to face learning. A class will be divided into those who will attend the class onsite and those who will attend online. The proposed schedule is an alternating weekly onsite and online classes.
A “HYFLEX” classroom set-up will be arranged.
Teacher will facilitate, supervise, and engage the students in a classroom designed for those attending the classes through Zoom or MS Teams video conferencing and for the students who will be physically present inside the classroom. Learning plans will be designed to accommodate both types of learners.
Reporting will be in a group of 20 students following the suggested number of hours for interaction. For TVL, only 12 students will be allowed inside the laboratories.
Provisions for learning stations especially in the use of laboratories will be created to observe social distancing.
Health and safety protocols shall be observed upon onsite reporting of students.
All takers of this modality are recommended to be fully vaccinated.
Health and safety protocols shall be observed upon onsite reporting of students.
Provisions for hand washing stations will be set.
Physical distancing policy and set protocols will be observed.
