Govt. College Shillai is one of the premier institution of Himachal Pradesh having the motto "Medhavi Mahiyate" was established  by Himachal Pradesh Government as a multi faculty, co-educational institution on 5th September, 2005 (10-11-2005) Affiliated to Himchal Pradesh University, Shimla and Recognized under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956. Shillai a Sub-Divisional Headquarter in District Sirmour is situated on National Highway 707. The town is situated near the Tauns (Meenus) river and a distance of 70km from Paonta Sahib and 115km from district headquarter Nahan.  BA, B.Com, B.Sc and MA in English, Hindi, History & Political Science are running in the college. During the academic session 2023-24 there are 618 students enrolled in various courses.
