What type of Promethean ActivPanel do I have?

Can I use an additional monitor with my laptop and Panel?

The Promethean Panel is designed to work with one monitor. You may use an additional monitor, but you will lose touch function on the computer interface. 

** If three displays are being used as an extended screen (connected device, monitor, and Promethean ActivPanel), touch on the ActivPanel display will only occur if: ○ The Promethean ActivPanel display becomes the main display (where desktop icons are housed) ○ If the connected device and Promethean ActivPanel are duplicated and the third monitor is the extended screen.

Why can't I hear on my Panel?

After making sure your USB cord in inserted into your computer or docking station, check your speaker connection.  Locate the speaker icon on your toolbar and check that your Panel is your source for sound.

Why doesn't the touch screen work when I'm connected to the computer?

Check that the USB-D touch cable is connected properly to both your computer and the ActivPanel.  

How do I clean my ActivPanel?

You can clean your Panel with a 90% alcohol solution and a microfiber cloth. Make sure you spray the solution on the cloth and not the panel.

How do I change my background/wallpaper on my ActivPanel Titanum or ActivPanel 9 Premium?

ActivPanel Titanum: To replace the wallpaper, open your Unified Menu and select your Locker. Select the Settings Icon. Select Display and Wallpaper. Pictures can be uploaded from a thumb drive or saved with Screen Capture.

ActivPanel 9 Premium: To replace the wallpaper, head to one.prometheanworld.com. Sign into your account in the top right corner. Then click your profile icon and click account and finally panel settings. Upload your PNG, JPG, or GIF. Then log into your Promethean Account on your panel. The wallpaper will load to the panel.

How do I change my Visual and Audio Preferences?

1. Use the volume buttons. 

2. Select Settings ⚙️.

3. Choose Display to adjust:

   • Brightness

   • Screen timeout

   • Color or visual settings

4. Choose Sound / Audio to adjust:

   • Volume

   • Output device (panel speakers vs. connected device)

5. Exit Settings when finished—changes save automatically.

Tip: If a computer is connected, you may also need to adjust audio and display settings on the computer itself.

What is ActivInspire?

ActivInspire is a collaborative lesson delivery software for interactive displays. There are 10 activities that teachers can create, add to their flipcharts, and make lessons even more interactive.

What is Explain Everything?

Explain Everything Whiteboard is a digital whiteboard tool used for creating and presenting lessons. It allows teachers to write, draw, annotate, and add images, videos, and other media on an open canvas. Lessons can be recorded with voice narration, making it useful for demonstrations, reviews, or student access outside of class.

Can I import my ActivInspire flipcharts into the Explain Everything Whiteboard?

How do I use the Activity Player App?

After creating your activities in ActivInspire, watch the video to see how to launch the Player.

How do I annotate for a Google Meet/Zoom so that students can see it?

You will need to use the Annotate Application in ActivSuite so the annotations show up for the Meet/Zoom.

Where will my Panel be installed?

The Panels will be installed at "chalk tray" height, centered in the classroom. 

Can I print from the ActivPanel?

Unfortunately, no. It is recommended that you save files from the ActivPanel to your One Drive/ USB drive and print from your district-issued computer. 

Is there a way to freeze your screen without having your computer connected? 

Unfortunately no, if you need the image to remain, use the Screen Capture app to screenshot and open the Image in the Whiteboard. 

How do you get the touch screen to work to go to a new slide on a Google Slide? 

Touch the screen and a little rectangle should appear in the bottom left corner. Use the arrows to move from slide to slide.

Who do I contact for technical issues with my Panel?

For any technical issues, please contact your Media Specialist or Instructional Technology Coach.

Can I connect multiple Panels for a Presentation?

Yes, multiple Panels can be connected. Connect your laptop to a Panel via HDMI. Use the HDMI OUT port to connect an HDMI cord to the 2nd Panel's HDMI input.

You will only have touch capability on the Panel connected directly to the laptop.

Can I use a thumb/flash drive with my Panel?

You can use your thumb/flash drives with your Panel without having to connect your computer. It is recommended that you place your drive directly into the OPS (left rear) or the front of the panel. You can access your files from specific programs (Word, PowerPoint,etc.) or from the Storage and USB function under Settings.
