Reason for Joining GCPM: I used GCPT extensively during my first year as a General Chemistry student, which motivated me to use my tutoring experience to give back to the community :) As a board member now, I believe it is not only crucial to do our best to help Gen Chem students, but also foster a collaborative environment where our mentors can grow and thrive!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I think the process of building a solid foundation in chemistry can help you learn a lot about how you process information and the rules that govern the world around you. I want to help facilitate this process for students and share my passion for chemistry!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I joined GCPM because I want to provide any help possible to fellow peers as I understand how challenging chemistry can be at times. GCPM has offered me assistance in practice problems in times of exam preparation which has helped me to do well in the General Chemistry Series. Chemistry can be hard but it’s very fun, so I believe that everyone can succeed with hard work and practice!

Reason for Joining GCPM: Chemistry is not my best subject but the classes were definitely the most rewarding! I want to help students who may find it intimidating because I felt the same way at first.

Reason for Joining GCPM: Besides the fact that I love chemistry, I found that helping my friends with the subject brings me a lot of joy. Seeing my peers enthusiastic to learn and excited to understand a concept they were struggling with is such a blissful moment! Through GCPM I hope to work alongside other students/mentors and make this year successful (and FUN!) :)

Reason for Joining GCPM: GCPM was an invaluable resource when I was taking general chemistry, and I want to give other students the opportunity to take advantage of this resource!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I wanted to join GCPM to help create an environment where students can become confident in their chemistry skills. I believe everyone deserves free, easy access to the resources necessary to be successful in chemistry and I want to help provide that!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I loved learning chemistry, and my success was made possible with all of the incredible resources that were available to me as a student. Joining GCPM gives me the opportunity to give back to the community that has once supported me while simultaneously expanding my own experiences as a tutor!

Reason for Joining GCPM: Putting in the effort, time, and dedication to strengthening my general chemistry knowledge was very rewarding, so I'm eager to use my experience to help peers build confidence and achieve their own academic breakthroughs. I know that general chemistry can be difficult at times but success can be achieved through supportive environments such as GCPM!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I was very lucky to have such strong support around me when I took gen chem, and I want to be that same support system for others. As a first generation college student, I believe in the importance of uplifting those around you and sharing your resources to help others grow!

Reason for Joining GCPM: Peer mentors have helped me a lot prepare for difficult classes and feel more confident for finals. Through GCPM, I want to help others be less intimated by chemistry and instead enjoy it more. Also, I liked chemistry enough to major in it.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I love being in GCPM and guiding students through their first chemistry sequence at UCI! Chemistry is a daunting subject to many, and I want to help make the experience as enjoyable and as stress-free as possible!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I have an interest in both helping others and chemistry so why not bring the two together? After helping out fellow students with chemistry and going out of my way to learn more about the subject, I learned that chemistry is literally everywhere and I want to share my interest with others as well as help out with whatever I can.

Reason for Joining GCPM: General Chemistry is deeply foundational to all of STEM, and I am excited to work with people from different majors. Being able to be a peer mentor is a great way to collaborate, connect with others, and hopefully help them succeed!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I wanted to join GCPM to help new students adjust into college and guide them through the content-packed general chemistry series. I think that it is a very rewarding experience to see students grow and progress in their academic journey.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I joined GCPM because I've always loved chemistry because of how fascinating it can be. I hope to help my peers build a deeper understanding of the subject while also making it enjoyable!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I've had past experience as a General Chemistry tutor, so I understand how the course can feel like an entire different language sometimes. As a part of GCPM, I hope to guide students to reaching their full potential in chemistry, while also having fun!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I love chemistry and hope to help others strengthen their understanding of the subject while finding their own passion for it! I believe that learning is most meaningful when it happens within a supportive community, and I’m excited to mentor others while continuing to grow and deepen my own understanding of chemistry.

Reason for Joining GCPM: While I was taking general chemistry, I found the GCPM's practice problems and worksheets helpful, especially because of the explanations. I want to help others enjoy chemistry like I do and not only succeed in the subject, but build confidence in their own skills!

Reason for Joining GCPM: Chemistry is a topic which has a great deal of terror surrounding it. I believe that with my teaching experience and eagerness to show students how to sharpen their intuition, I can ease some of these fears and teach anybody to achieve success in the subject.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I wanted to join GCPM because I really enjoy general chemistry as a subject and I wanted to help others understand it, and consequently enjoy it, just as much as I did! GCPM helped me a lot my freshman year and I loved the community in the club, so I’m so glad to be returning for a second year!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I wanted to join GCPM as a way of giving back because this organization's resources were a major part of my success in General Chemistry. I also wanted to join to ensure the success of incoming UCI students who may not have as much experience in chemistry and prepare them for upper division classes.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I joined GCPM because it was a resource I utilized a lot when I was taking the series. I also enjoy teaching others and chemistry is my favorite subject, so I joined GCPM to combine both of my interests.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I want to join GCPM because I remember how overwhelming the first year of chemistry could be and how meaningful this program was to me. Now, I want to give new students the same encouragement and support, while helping them approach this challenging subject with greater confidence.
