Reason for Joining GCPM: When I was taking general chemistry, GCPM (formerly GCPT) was incredibly helpful and I felt it played an immense role in my success in the series. Already having years of tutoring experience, I joined GCPT last year in hopes of contributing my experience/perspectives and giving back to the program :)

Reason for Joining GCPM: I want to support students and show them that general chemistry is tough, but manageable. Chemistry wasn’t my strongest subject in high school, but if I could get it done, then so can you!

Reason for Joining GCPM:  I joined GCPM because I wanted to help my peers through this challenging Gen Chem series! I know that it is a difficult subject for many and I want to make the journey through Gen Chem as easy as possible! I know that I had many resources to help me succeed and I want to be a resource to help my future peers succeed as well.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I know how frustrating chemistry can be when working alone, so I hope GCPM can be a community you can rely on when you need that extra academic or moral support. We will always be there for you!

Reason for joining GCPM: I came to UCI with little chemistry background, so I want to help others in a similar situation. The series was definitely formidable, but I want to be here to share my tips, study guides, and techniques for everyone to succeed!

Reason for Joining GCPM: Besides the fact that I love chemistry, I found that helping my friends with the subject brings me a lot of joy. Seeing my peers enthusiastic to learn and excited to understand a concept they were struggling with is such a blissful moment! Through GCPM I hope to work alongside other students, decode difficult concepts together, and make this year successful :)

Reason for Joining GCPM: I wanted to join GCPM because I want to help people learn to love chemistry! I had no shortage of guidance and help while I was taking the subject, so I want to pay that help forward as well!

Reason for Joining GCPM: Chemistry is not my best subject but the classes were definitely the most rewarding! I want to help students who may find it intimidating because I felt the same way at first.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I want to join GCPM to empower students when it comes to grasping concepts and building a thorough understanding in their chemistry studies. What I hope to do is to make the subject more widely accessible and appealing for mentees, since some people may be deterred or discouraged from thoughtfully engaging and finding appreciation in chemistry due to a lack of proper explanation and instruction.

Reason for Joining GCPM: Chemistry can be an intimidating subject and difficult to grasp. For that reason, I want to help my peers gain confidence and be able to overcome any learning struggles that they have!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I think chemistry is such a fascinating subject, It's almost like solving a puzzle. My goal at GCPM is to help fellow classmates see chemistry not as a challenge, but as an exciting puzzle they already have the tools to solve!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I love this program because it supported me a lot when I was going through it, and I know firsthand how helpful it can be. I want to give back by helping others feel welcomed and confident, and I think I can bring good ideas to make the experience even better for future students.

Reason for Joining GCPM: When I first started learning chemistry, I remember that working with friends was one of the most effective ways to get me to understand something. Within GCPM, I hope to encourage collaboration and learning to help students enjoy chemistry!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I had such a great experience in GCPT, both with helping students of all undergrad years who were taking GenChem and befriending my absolutely amazing co-tutors! It was such a welcoming and encouraging environment for the tutors and the students alike, and I want to keep that going in GCPM.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I wanted to join GCPM to help new students adjust into college and guide them through the content-packed general chemistry series. I think that it is a very rewarding experience to see students grow and progress in their academic journey.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I wanted to join GCPM because chemistry has grown to be one of my favorite subjects, but can be difficult to understand and apply at times. I hope to able to share the knowledge I've gained throughout the general chemistry series with fellow students!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I want to make chemistry more approachable and share how I view certain concepts in Chemistry that helps it be less intimidating. As someone who took AP chemistry in high school, I could not take Chem 1A and lacked a reliable foundation coming into Chem 1B, so I want to be someone who can help others who are transitioning the same way I did.

Reason for Joining GCPM: I've had past experience as a General Chemistry tutor, so I understand how the course can feel like an entire different language sometimes. As a part of GCPM, I hope to guide students to reaching their full potential in chemistry, while also having fun!

Reason for Joining GCPM: Chemistry has always been one of my favorite subjects, and the General Chemistry series included some of my favorite classes at UCI. As a peer mentor, I hope to be able to get other students to learn and appreciate chemistry as much as I do, as well as succeed in these classes.

As I have taken the General Chemistry series before, I have learned tips that I want to pass on to other students. Through my guidance, I hope students will be able to master the complex topics and have fun learning this subject!

Reason for Joining GCPM: I joined GCPM because I want to provide any help possible to fellow peers as I understand how challenging chemistry can be at times. GCPM has offered me assistance in practice problems in times of exam preparation which has helped me to do well in the General Chemistry Series. Chemistry can be hard but it’s very fun, so I believe that everyone can succeed with hard work and practice!
