The GC originally started out of a few friends in a Fortnite Group Chat, which turned into FNGC. This group chat was originally used on Facebook's Messenger app, and can still be seen to this day. FNGC later sprung into GC, which meant originally meant Group Chat and was immediately abbreviated to GC with no meaning; only AKP09 knew what it meant. GC would be used for more games than just Fortnite. The change from FNGC to GC occurred in early 2020, and was the very starting ground for the Gaming Crew that we know today. After a year of development with Discord, our members, and several different rebrands, the Gaming Crew is at its peak with much to offer. We are still currently growing in members; friends, family and many others that have interests in gaming have been joining. This is and will forever be a place to hang out, talk and have fun.
FNGC was created in 2018, which is mind boggling to think about. Fortnite was our standing ground to chat and talk, until we used Facebook's Messenger app. This app allowed members to chat with one another in the same place whenever we weren't playing Fortnite. We needed a name for this new group chat, and went through some pretty bad ideas that we won't mention. FNGC stuck because the FN stood for Fortnite, and the GC stood for Group Chat; Fortnite Group Chat. We soon started recruiting members with the FNGC Trials, and because of that, a few side chats were made. There was a FNGC group chat in Snapchat, one in Instagram, and some Discord Chats. We later started using Discord for communication, as it was much more open and customizable, it was also loved by everyone else because it centered FNGC. This was also around the time FNGC became the Fortnite Gaming Clan. After a few months of FNGC, we evolved into GC, but FNGC was still around as it turned into a Side Server. FNGC was actually the first server that was going to create its own Side Server; MCGC. Because FNGC was turning into a Side Server, MCGC was a Side Server for GC.
As you know already, GC was originally called Group Chat and was changed to GC with a hidden meaning that no one knew about. This name eventually evolved into Group Clans, Gaming Chats, and Gaming Clans. GC could have also been GG, which would've meant Gaming Group. GG is very similar to GC, but we decided to keep it as GC to not need to edit the side servers' names being created at the time.
