Oh, to be apart of the SM Team for this show! When I started off my stage management journey in college, I never thought I was have the PSM title so early on in my career; I was a sophomore during the duration of the production process. I was always the ASM, never the PSM. This production gave me the chance to show what I have learned from my past stage managers and mentors, now it's my turn to create my approach to stage management.
I approach stage management with determination, passion, and advocating for everyone apart of the process no matter what their role is. Throughout the process I made sure everyone was taken care of and that they were able to come to me when issues arise. With this being my first show as PSM, I was determined more than ever to leave my mark on the show. At times it was difficult for me to be a PSM since I was taking 19 credit hours that semester. Yes, always being attached to your email and having to be present at every meeting can be stressful, but that didn't stop my passion for stage management. With my team backing me up the whole way, none of this wouldn't have been possible.
I wish to participate in the regional festival because I want to show off my team's work, but to also get inspired by other artists to grow. The best way to grow is learning from other artists about their process, experience, and their approach. Also, getting to know more people in the stage management community is something I care about, building a community is so important! Another reason I am participating is to get feedback from other professionals about what I'm doing can help me improve for what I can do with future shows.
Speaking of the future, my future goals as a stage manager are to have more fun, to not get overwhelmed easily when things go wrong, and to document more of the process. There are so many moments where I can recall many memories, and I will cherish the good and the bad.
I would like to end my letter on this important note:
This show would not be possible without the hard work and dedication from my ASM's, Harley and Rachel. I took a chance of having two freshman on my team, but I wanted to give a freshman the chance to work on their first mainstage just like me. We all connected instantly and I knew that I had an amazing team going into this intense show. My one goal for them was to start working on how to create paper work which is one thing I wish I did more of as an ASM before stepping into this position. I decided to spilt up the paperwork with one document in tech and the other in performance. Rachel took on the tech aspect while Harley worked on the performance aspect. They are superstars and were the backbone of this production, they were the best part about the process!

Full Production Calendar
Fight Choreography
(Featuring footage from the Monster Montage)
Recorded by Rachel, actors performing at half speed
(Featuring me calling cues for the fight sequence)
After finalizing all of the cues during tech, I ended up calling 269 cues
Calling The Show
(Featuring The Beholder and the Gelatinous Cube Sequence)
I decided to chose these calling sequences because they were the most difficult ones to execute during tech. There was lots of first for me during this show and one of them was calling a fly cue for The Beholder! I wanted to share my call script and a show clip side by side to display the technicality of the sequence.
