Our Mission
Greenacres will always reflect the style and grace of Louis and Louise Nippert who operated Greenacres as a mid-twentieth century gentleman’s farm from 1948 to 2012.
To preserve for the public an area reflecting the traditional environment of Indian Hill and its historical significance by preserving Greenacres in its current state of woodland and farmland.
To preserve the integrity of all land owned and purchased by Greenacres Foundation in order to encourage conservation and appreciation of nature by providing the public, particularly children, opportunities to study plant and animal life in their natural settings.
To encourage appreciation of music and culture by providing facilities and an atmosphere that will encourage artists to display their talents for all age groups.

Greenacres Foundation is a working farm and nonprofit education organization that provides free, hands-on programming for all ages, with a primary focus on students in grades K–12. Its mission is to preserve the historic landscapes owned and cared for by the Foundation and to offer meaningful experiences in the arts, agriculture, the natural world, and equine education—continuing the vision of Louis and Louise Nippert.
The Foundation offers free field trips for schools and homeschool groups, exploring agriculture, environmental stewardship, ecology, the arts, and equine studies. Programs take place in forests, streams, gardens, pastures, and active farm operations, giving students authentic, place-based experiences connected to real landscapes and real work. Additional opportunities include summer camps, public educational events, arts programming, equine-focused experiences, and access to responsibly grown produce, meat, and flowers through the Farm Markets.
Greenacres operates as a working production farm supported by onsite research. Sustainable practices include rotational multi-species grazing, pastured poultry systems, equine-integrated land management, and year-round, organically managed low-till gardening. Research staff study ecological and agricultural systems to inform these practices and share insights with the broader community.
Educational programming and community offerings take place across multiple Greenacres-owned properties, each with unique environments for exploration: Indian Hill, Ohio; Miami Township Clermont County, Ohio; Lewis Township in Brown County, Ohio; and Michaela Farm in Oldenburg, Indiana.
