May 31- Aug 2- Summer Break
🔅😎SUMMER SIGN-UPS
June 8-12 DUBS (Destination Unknown Bible Study).
DUBS (Destination Unknown Bible Study)Â Â
Thank you so much for deciding to send your son or daughter to DUBS this year; you will not be disappointed. They will not only have fun as a group, but they will be able to hear about God AND BE the hands and feet of Jesus this week in various mission opportunities. I wanted to take a few minutes and give you some information about DUBS, well, as much information as I can. See, the joy of this week is that the students do NOT know where they are going each day or what they are going to be doing.Â
However, as a parent, you will receive a slip of information at check-in that will inform you where your student will be throughout the day in case of emergencies. It will also give you insight on what they will need to be prepared for the next day. Please read through this information in order to get a feel for DUBS and how you can be in the loop and help your kid have the most fun while doing it. Please keep the secret and keep the joy of the students NOT knowing where they are going. Â
Check - inÂ
Please COME IN to drop your student off in the CLC/gym side of the church each day. You will receive an envelope with the information for each day in it. Please keep this information close in case of emergencies, but do not read it or tell them what is on it. I’ve seen some parents read it, make sure they have everything their student needs, and then head on their way. It builds to the surprise for the day. It will also tell you a little bit, very little bit, about what your student might want to bring for the next day or what to wear to be prepared. Â
What should my Student Bring? Â
Because each day is a surprise, I would recommend having this list of items with him or her every day:Â
Lunch (Super important that they bring their own lunch every day, we will have coolers for them)Â Â
Shoes (not sandals or slides, unless the directions say otherwise)
Appropriate modest Swimsuit and Towel (You never know, but the sheet will tell you when we are swimming)
NEW GCC Student shirt (Wear this on Tuesday, Thursday, AND Friday) Sorry, moms and dads for extra laundry (On Monday and Wednesday, they can wear a different GCC Students shirt or something with a positive message. If they have their DUBS shirt from last year, this is a good day to wear that.)
Money: In some of the locations, they will have the opportunity for souvenirs or some snacks. I would not send a ton, just some.   Â

Mission:Â How can you help? Â
On Friday, (Spoiler Alert) we will be going to Hope of Southern Indiana. Throughout the week, we would love it if kids are bringing in items for this mission. Here are the items that Hope has specifically asked us to bring to help. The students will be in teams and their team will be earning points throughout the week. The winning team gets ice cream from Lazy Sundaes. Â
We are collecting the following hygiene items: baby wipes, shampoo (regular size), conditioner (regular size), deodorant, body wash, tampons, toilet paper
ALSO! New this year. We are going to return to Lifeline Meal Packing again this year. Some missions we go to allow us to serve freely, but some ministries need not only our hands, but also our tithe and offering. Part of your registration fee (10%) is going to this ministry as well as to Hope of So. IN this year. You have already given so much, but if you felt so inclined to give with a cheerful heart more to this ministry, here is a link to help offset the cost of this ministry opportunity. Â
MONDAYÂ
Your student should have with them some work gloves and I would make sure that they have real shoes on and not sandals this day. They might even bring an extra shirt in case something happens during their mission. We will be doing some outside work for our mission. I would make sure they have some money with them on this day as well to purchase some overpriced popcorn... (Again, please don't give anything away to them, just make sure they are prepared).  Â
If you have any questions about DUBS, please contact Matthew Townsend or Georgetown Christian Church before Monday morning, June 8th. Â
Otherwise, we will see you at 8:30-8:45 when you come in for Drop off Monday morning. Please be EARLY on Monday so we can get started at 9:00 that day. We have a big day :) Â
