GREEN COUNTRY CRICKET CLUB (GCCC) is an educational and cultural non‐profit organization (501c3 registered) whose mission is to educate Tulsans and the surrounding metros about the sport of Cricket by creating a unique cultural learning experience for all communities of Tulsa through the sport of Cricket.
Our programs;
Sixers - competitive Cricket
Between the wickets - youth/juniors Cricket
Howzzaatt? - cross‐cultural pickup games and recreational Cricket
Handshake - community giveback.
The goal of our programs is "Cricket for all Tulsans".
Green Country Cricket Club (GCCC) has been continually active since 1997 after some friends got together and wanted to have some cherry & willow fun as they made America their home. The club began playing cricket matches/games against local teams until it joined the newly formed Tri-State Cricket league (TSCL) that organized competitive Cricket in all of Oklahoma and parts of Kansas and Arkansas in 2001.
Fun facts: GCCC was the T20 format champion in its inaugural year in 2013 and again in 2017. GCCC was the runners up twice in the 35-Over format championship in 2015 and 2016.
In 2021, we had resolved to make Cricket available and accessible for all peoples of Tulsa in any manner (educational, recreational or competitive) that excited them. This led to us envisioning and developing various programs and formalizing ourselves as a 501c3 non-profit organization. Currently, we are most excited about introducing and teaching the wonderful sport of Cricket to all Tulsans and build long lasting friendships.
Our current leadership team consists of a Board and an Executive Committee (EC), all who are ethnically South Asian immigrants.
The Board consists of four (4) members – three (3) men and one (1) woman, while the EC consists of five (5) members who are all active players in GCCC cricket team.
