Seize the Moments of Nature's Magnificent Elegance of Birds.
Take a tour of the majestic exhibit of beautiful birds captured in their natural habitat. Enjoy the delightful refreshments, enter to win great prizes, and pick your favorite photograph to take home (prices vary). Inquire within at 252-747-1999.
eBird began with a simple idea—that every birdwatcher has unique knowledge and experience. Our goal is to gather this information in the form of bird checklists, archive it, and freely share it to power new data-driven approaches to science, conservation, and education. At the same time, we develop tools that make birding more rewarding. From managing lists, photos, and audio recordings to viewing real-time maps of species distribution and receiving alerts when species are spotted, we strive to provide the most current and useful information to the birding community.
The Charters of Freedom Foundation Vision
In 2012, Vance had an idea: "What if we could duplicate that experience we had in Washington, D.C.? What if we could bring that experience back to the citizens of Burke County, North Carolina?" Two years later, the couple gifted the very first Charters of Freedom setting outside of Washington, D.C., to the citizens of Burke County. Carrying that same vision, to reach other communities across America, Foundation Forward, Inc. was officially formed. It now operates as a nonprofit educational project that promotes civic education, history, and the preservation of American heritage. Over 30 settings have been dedicated across the country in nine states.
Dedication Ceremony of the Charters of Freedom

The event will feature the Greene Central High School Marching Band, complimentary refreshments provided by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce, and much more.

The Charters of Freedom are the United States' foundational documents that secured the rights of American citizens and established the government's framework. These are the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. They embody the core principles of the nation, including natural rights, the structure of the U.S. government, and guarantees of individual freedoms.
