I love to make abstract art that strikes at the complexity and emotion that can be achieved. I’m a maximalist artist and I aim to do this by pushing myself in different mediums, techniques, and styles. As far as complexity goes, I like the idea of people analyzing my work that goes beyond appreciation of decorative appeal; I’m focused on intensity. I often utilize optical illusions and the types/amount of shapes that I present in my work (representational or not). Inspiration-wise, I grew up doing arts and crafts because of my mom, and I like the look of stained glass and carpet designs.
My usual medium of choice consists of graph paper, pens, and markers. My purpose is precision. I love putting a great deal of time and effort into my art, even if it's faster to make it online, though I’ve used other mediums lately. When it comes to my personal life, I have anxiety issues, so art is my form of stress-relief.
Motivation-wise, making art has always helped me with my emotions. I’m always surprised when people like my art more than I do. Imposter syndrome affects me, but it does help that my work is appreciated. I spent a long time associating my art with hard work because abstract art/pattern-based art is often looked down upon or seen as unusual. All in all, my use of intensity and maximalism acts as a conduit for my stress and what abstraction can achieve in an emotional sense.
In my printmaking class, I made a process video displaying my skills and processes in relation to the type of art that I make.
This requires a great deal of time and precision, and I hope that I properly showed it here.
When it comes to my more personal projects, I tend to record my processes in a more enjoyable, shorter way. This can be seen in my Instagram and Youtube accounts.
The Multi-Design Quilt Concept is a long-term art project that I’ve presented for June 2026 (twenty squares in total). I make a lot of different types of designs/styles and for this project, I combined a good chunk of them together into one quilt-like composition but with the same color scheme (purple, orange, blue, and green - two types each).
