Formal agreements
Managed by our office. There are no monetary charges for processing/signing agreements.
Agreements are mostly initiated through a general Memorandum of Understanding. A template of such an agreement will be provided on request.
Memorandum of Agreements shall be signed for specific tasks.
Collaborative Doctoral Programmes with foreign universities/institutes shall be initiated within the models suggested below. The MoUs with the interested institutes shall be signed with additional clauses decided on a case-to-case basis by the University.
Models for Collaborative Doctoral Programmes with Foreign Universities
Joint Degree
Students must meet the admission requirements and need to complete the degree requirements of their home institution.
They will receive the degree only from their home institution with a remark that the program has been completed jointly with the host institution.
Dual Award Degree
Students must meet the admission requirements and complete the degree requirements of both the institutions.
They receive a separate degree from both the institutions.
Conditions common for both of the above models
Students must have a supervisor/advisor at each institution.
They must spend minimum 12 months over the entire duration of the program at the host institution.
They shall pay tuition fee at the home institution and host institution.

DEFIAA FRANCE 2024-2028 Exchange
DEFIAA-2026
The DEFIAA programme is a project backed by a consortium of agricultural institutions supported by the French Ministry of Agriculture.
Ongoing DEFIAA programme, under which twenty (20) university students get a facility to visit France during March 08th to April 3rd, 2026.
Interested students may apply for the programme under the following conditions.
Only students, who have completed their courses by the end of the 1st semester 2025-26, can apply.
Any student who is on AP/CP will not be considered.
Students should apply with the self attested copies of their CGPA/OGPA according to the following:
a. UG students-on the basis of III years’ CGPA
b. PG students –on the basis of 50% of OGPA of UG and 50% CGPA of 1st year PG
c. Ph D students –on the basis of 50% of OGPA of PG and 50% CGPA of PhD
The travel related expenses’ including VISA charges has to be borne by the students themselves, whereas the expenses towards boarding, lodging and local transport at France will be borne by the host French institute.
The students should submit their applications to Director, International Affairs (c/o Department of Civil Engineering, College of Technology) on or before Saturday the 10th January2026.

DEFIAA FRANCE 2024-FACULTY DELEGATION VISIT (07th-11th October 2024)
The DEFIAA programme (Developing French Indian exchanges in Agrofood and Agronomy) is functional in the university, which is a project backed by the French Ministry of Agriculture. DEFIAA is a consortium of agricultural institutions willing to welcome Indian delegation from GBPUAT.
DEFIAA2024 consortium has invited a delegation of twenty (20) members under the leadership of Honorable Vice Chancellor tentatively during October 07 to 11, 2024 for about a week to visit two to three institutes or organizations of the group.
DEFIAA have agreed to host the delegation during the above period, and which includes local hospitality like lodging, boarding, local transport etc,
Expression of interest are invited from the university staff to be a part of the delegation.
