I go by Gayana Jayasinghe.
As an undergraduate I studied electrical and electronic engineering at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. Then I switched to mathematics and did my PhD at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under the guidance of Pierre Albin.
I volunteer at Project Nenathambara, an organization which I co-founded that is involved in improving access to STEAM education in Sri Lanka, currently mainly focused on technological education. We have freely accessible online courses for programming and using microcontrollers in Sinhala and Tamil. We also organize workshops and courses for students and teachers, joint with various other organizations. We are currently recruiting more volunteers.
Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss anything related to Project Nenathambara.
