Pond Song

Growing up in Central Kentucky gave me the opportunity to live both a small city and country lifestyle. Some of my fondest memories growing up are from trips out to the country to swim and fish. 

Pond Song was written while thinking about those trips out to the country. The nice and relaxing time at the pond inspired the lighthearted theme; the mysterious aura of the pond as dusk fell inspired the second section; and the chorale came from missing those silent nights where stars painted the sky. The piece returns to the original theme as the sun rises from its sleep. The pond returns to its relaxing and inviting state.
