For this project, I have to share my social media addiction quiz results, choose one statistic from the Pew Research Articles, and provide my opinion on how social media is impacting society.
After taking the "Am I ADDICTED to social media?" QUIZ, this is what the results had to say about my answers:
You might not be 100% addicted (yet!), but you definitely need to evaluate how much time you're spending scrolling on your social media accounts. It may not be making you happy. One study by Facebook of teen Instagram users in the US and UK found more than 40% of those who reported feeling “unattractive” said the feelings started when using Instagram. It's a good time to start thinking about decluttering your digital life through a social media and digital detox!
I have to say that I do agree with the results. I often find myself stuck on social media when I should doing something else more productive. This is something I will need to work on moving foward.
This interesting social media statistic shows the most popular social media platforms from 2013 to 2025. I can relate to this article because YouTube and Instagram are my two most used apps on my phone.
In my opinion, I believe that social media has had both a good and bad impact on today's society. Social media has helped me to connect with friends, family, and new people that share my same interests or goals in mind. But, with that being said, social media can also have a negative impact such as bullying, mental health, spreading misinformation, and unhealthy habits.
The social media addiction survey has made me realize that I need to take breaks away from social platforms to better my mental health.
