I have chosen to pursue aerospace engineering for the air force. I decided to choose this because my family has always been associated with aerospace, my dad being an aerospace engineer and a pilot. My dad has inspired me to try to get a pilot’s license of my own. I have also been to multiple camps such as space camp that have interested me in flying jets. I decided that I wanted to be an aerospace engineer in middle school after my dad had got his own plane and started to get his certified flight instructor credentials so he could teach me to fly.

Throughout high school I have taken the highest offered physics I am taking AP physics 2 curently and I took AP physics 1 my 10th grade year. I am taking AP Calculus AB and I plan to continue and take AP Calculus BC my 12th grade year. Math and Science help me to understand the complex math required to be an aerospace engineer. I am taking engineering to help me understand what is required of me when I join the work force. Engineering will also teach me life skills no matter what path I end up choosing. The high level math, science classes, and skills I will learn while in the engineering program will prepare me for the ASVAB

During high school I participated in multiple extracurricular activities. I am in civil air patrol where we learn military style leadership and learn about work with a team through our flights and how a squadron functions through higher levels of leadership. I am a member of the Leonardtown wrestling team, working with the team and coaches has taught me the importance of not only physical strength and the ability to work with a team but also mental strength and resilience. Outside of school I go to the weight room with the wrestling team during the off season to help me with strength training and staying fit throughout the year. I have been employed and my job has taught me that it is important to quickly learn skills and be able to improvise making smart decisions because you won’t be trained for every possible scenario.

After I graduate I want to make it into a military academy, this is because I want to be a fighter pilot with an aerospace engineering degree. I believe that making it into an academy will help me the most with making it to my dream of becoming a fighter pilot and later an astronaut. My goal is to pilot in the military then apply to be an astronaut for future Mars missions. If I am not successful in being an astronaut I want to work with a defense contractor as a test pilot.

My dream is to become an astronaut on mars. Being one of the first or possibly the first person to walk on mars will change the community, society and world we live in by finding the newest scientific discoveries helping the world to find a way to sustain human life on mars. Finding a way to sustain life on Mars will change not only our world but another world. kind will be able to research the other planets better using mars as a pit stop and allow mankind to explore more of the universe, leaving a positive impact through generation till the end of time.
