Hello!

I am a doctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki where I am pursuing my PhD under the supervision of Dr Antti Honkela

Earlier, I was an Artificial Intelligence Research Associate at Fermi National Laboratory (Fermilab), Batavia, IL, USA. At Fermilab, I serve as an assistant researcher on multiple projects dealing with the application of AI in Particle Physics. For more about my work at Fermilab, refer to Projects and Publications.

Prior to this, I was a Machine Learning Engineer with a hospitality start-up, Circular Hospitality where I worked on anomaly detection to help on-site staff to maintain the rental properties in a ready-to-move-in state.

I finished my Master's in Data Science from the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Computer and Information Sciences and I received my Bachelor's in Electronics from Madhav Institute of Technology and Sciences, India.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include trustworthy artificial intelligence and interpretable machine learning. We live in an era where the novelty of AI & ML has shorn off and the public has grown largely skepticle of its utility given the opaque nature of these algorithms. No longer do sophistry of computer scientists and their corporate overheads remain effective to calm growing concerns about the trustworthiness of AI & ML algorithms.

During my doctoral studies, I aim to develop a skill set immersed in the study of increasing the robustness of AI in the face of possible attackes on its integrity (read ability to NOT LEAK the data from which it learns its behaviour). It is utmost important that AI preserves the privacy of its dataset while not compromising its interpretability.
