Directed Reading Program (DRP)
Founder and Graduate Mentor, Fall 2024
I started the Directed Reading Program (DRP) at our university to provide early-career opportunities to women and other underrepresented minority undergraduate students to explore advanced mathematical topics beyond their curriculum. After studying DRP models from other universities, I designed an adaptable program structure and guidelines for our committee and mentors.
I also served as a graduate mentor for the project: Integer coloring and progressions in Fall 2024

When I started this chapter, I had only one thing in mind that nobody should be left behind and whoever wants to contribute to our chapter should always receive an opportunity to do so. With this vision, we established the AWM chapter. Since our founding, many students and faculties got involved in our chapter. Our chapter won the “2024 AWM Student Chapter Award for Community Outreach” by the parent organization AWM and the Leadership & Engagement Awards for the “New student organization of the year” by Gertrude C. Ford Ole Miss Student Union and the Center for Inclusion and Cross Cultural Engagement at University of Mississippi.

Outreach
I have been doing community outreach from mathematics since my undergraduate years. I have been a part of the panels, workshops and talks which are designed for high school students. I believe that outreach is an important way of communicating mathematics to young generations and to encourage them to pursue career in mathematics. I am always enthusiastic to participate in various outreach activities. In University of Mississippi, we always make efforts to involve school students and introduce them to the researchers, grad students and fun math concepts!
