Dr. Gaurav Jhaa is a theoretical and computational chemist specializing in quantum chemical calculations, materials modeling, and cheminformatics, with a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry from Pondicherry University under Professor M. M. Balakrishnarajan. He worked on “Exploring the Structure, Stability, and Bandgap in Graphene Oxide: Insights from Chemical Bonding” for his Ph.D. thesis. 

Then, after joining IISER Mohali as a Postdoctoral Scientist under the mentorship of Prof. C. P. Priyakumari, he actively contributed to both teaching and research. He mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students while conducting advanced research in computational materials science. During this period, he worked on a wide range of interdisciplinary projects, including materials design, catalysis, energy materials, metavalency, and reaction mechanisms, contributing to the understanding and development of next-generation functional materials. Currently, he is serving as a Postdoctoral Scientist at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia, under Prof. Tawfik A. Saleh, where he continues to conduct research on energy materials design and related areas. Alongside his research activities, he remains actively engaged in teaching and mentoring students, encouraging the next generation of scientists.

In addition to his academic pursuits, he runs a popular YouTube channel, "Quantum Guru Ji," where he shares valuable insights and tutorials on theoretical calculations, further extending his expertise to a broader audience in the field.

Beyond academics, Dr. Jhaa enjoys photography, painting, and adventure activities, which reflect his creative approach to science and life.
