Gaurav Garg, Ph.D

About Me

Gaurav Garg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University Institute of Engineering, Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, India. With a strong background in both academia and research, he currently serves as an associate editor for the Computers and Electrical Engineering journal, published by Elsevier. Previously, Dr. Garg was an Assistant Professor at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, where he also contributed as the IEEE Student Branch Counselor for more than two years. His research experience includes a significant role as a Research Associate  (Image Processing), in the NIH-funded project titled MRSI and DKI Evaluation of HIV-1 Clade C Infection in the Whole Brain at PGIMER, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the University of Miami, Florida over a period of 4.5 years. Dr. Garg has also served as an Assistant Professor at the Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, for two years. An active member of IEEE, ACM, and the International AIDS Society (IAS), Dr. Garg earned his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh. His primary research interests include the development of CADx systems for cancer diagnosis using diverse imaging modalities and advanced Machine Learning/Deep Learning techniques.

• Research award for research paper titled, “A Survey of denoising techniques for multi-parametric prostate MRI”, in SCIE indexed journal Multimedia Tools and Applications in the year 2018.
