Become A Full-Time Trooper
US Citizen
High School Diploma from an accredited high school or GED
At least 21 years old upon graduation from Trooper School
Able to successfully pass the pre-employment process which includes physical fitness test, polygraph, background investigation, oral interview, psychological and medical evaluations
Meet requirements for certification as a peace officer by Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T)
Minimum vision of 20/60 uncorrected in each eye, and corrected to 20/40 or better in both eyes with glasses or contact lenses
Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License upon successful completion of Trooper School

Training Requirements
Must be able to pass our Physical Training
Must be able to pass our Field Training Evaluation with a qualified FTO. Are you interested in becoming a full-time trooper of the Florida Highway Patrol? If so, you need to meet these four requirements to ensure you're eligible for this role:
~ You need to be at least 21 years of age to apply.
~ You should have an active driver's license, allowing you to take on this role with confidence.
~ It's important to keep a clean record, so a major criminal history will not be acceptable.
~ Lastly, you will need to complete our application process successfully, so be sure to put your best foot forward.

Becoming An Auxillary Trooper

You must have an active driver's license, which is essential for patrolling and responding to incidents on the road.
You must have a clean criminal record, as we prioritize the safety of our citizens and want to ensure that only responsible and trustworthy individuals are selected.
You must prove yourself through our rigorous application process, which includes tests of your physical fitness, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
