Become A Full-Time Trooper
US Citizen
High School Diploma from an accredited high school or GED
At least 21 years old upon graduation from Trooper School
Able to successfully pass the pre-employment process which includes physical fitness test, polygraph, background investigation, oral interview, psychological and medical evaluations
Meet requirements for certification as a peace officer by Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T)
Minimum vision of 20/60 uncorrected in each eye, and corrected to 20/40 or better in both eyes with glasses or contact lenses
Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License upon successful completion of Trooper School

Training Requirements
Must be able to pass our Physical Training
Must be able to pass our Field Training Evaluation with a qualified FTO. Are you interested in becoming a full-time trooper of the Florida Highway Patrol? If so, you need to meet these four requirements to ensure you're eligible for this role:
~ You need to be at least 21 years of age to apply.
~ You should have an active driver's license, allowing you to take on this role with confidence.
~ It's important to keep a clean record, so a major criminal history will not be acceptable.
~ Lastly, you will need to complete our application process successfully, so be sure to put your best foot forward.

Becoming An Auxillary Trooper
