Walking Route From Start To Finish
Overview:
Location: University of Florida. Gainesville, Florida
25min walk from Reid Hall to Matherly Hall
Resources:
Inner Road
After you are finished with the trail you will get to Inner Road, where you’ll first get a glance at the different schools on the campus. On your right is the College of Arts, an institution fostering creativity and artistic thinking. In front of you, there will be the Architecture Building, which is a school for teaching students building skills. Walking further down Inner Road, you'll pass by the Rinker School of Construction Management and Weil Hall, where the future engineers and builders of the world sharpen their skills.
The Shortcut: School of Music to Stadium Road
As you exit the shortcut, you’ll find yourself on Stadium Road. To the right, you’ll see the headquarters for many administrators. These buildings like the Financial Aid Office and the business office are places where many students come to solve their school issues. Some of those issues include navigating forms, scholarships, and funding to make the UF experience better.
University Auditorium and the Center of Campus
Cutting through the middle of the campus will save a lot of walking time. To do so, you’ll have to always walk towards the tall brown tower in the center of the campus. From Stadium Rd, you will have to take a diagonal sidewalk to arrive there. On the way, you will see the iconic University Auditorium. A place where the University of Florida hosts a variety of events, from musical performances to guest lectures. If you continue down the diagonal sidewalk, you will find yourself in the center of campus.
The Liberal Arts and Sciences Quadrant / The Union Road Administrative Stretch
At this point you can see the Liberal Arts and Sciences Quadrant from the auditorium to the left. This Quadrant is where philosophy, physics, social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences coexist. If you keep going deeper down Stadium Rd, you’ll eventually reach the sports complexes, where Gator football and basketball happens. On game days, the arenas are filled with blue and orange. If you look to the right, you will see more administrative halls, including the Registrar's Office and other essential student services.
The pinnacle of the UF campus is Library West, that is where many festivals and outdoor events happen. Many students study, collaborate, and prepare for their future careers in this huge Library. To your left, you'll come across the Chemistry Building and other science-focused departments. When you head right of the library, you’ll find yourself in the Business District, where Matherly Hall is.
Matherly Hall
The Home to the Warrington College of Business, is where future business leaders, economists, and entrepreneurs are made. Matherly Hall is where many of the economics classes are held for business students.
