The Gateway PS School Council provides a space through which the active participation of parents, caregivers, and other members of the school community can contribute to improving student achievement,  school performance, and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.  Gateway PS School Council meets at least four times in the school year. All parents of students at Gateway PS are invited to attend all of the School Council official meetings.  An agenda is provided for each meeting which includes brief reports by the Principal and the staff, financial reports, Community Support Worker (CSW) reports, and discussions of topics, issues and concerns raised by community members. Gateway PS School Council aims at creating, maintaining and contributing to a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the rights and dignity of each person to ensure that there is a sense of community.
