Fugitive emissions management program provides leakdetection & repair (LDAR) solutions using optical gas imaging(OGI) technology (FLIR GFX320 OGI Camera) to spot leaks inpiping, tanks, flanges, connections, and other facility assets.Utilizing the latest in leak detection and thermographytechnologies, Vertex can efficiently scan large areas includingdifficult to access locations, and pinpoint leaks withoutinterrupting facility processes. Once identified, emissions are
quantified using QOGI technology and facility repairs can bemade, and those repairs visually confirmed with asubsequent scan of the area.
Fugitive Emissions ManagementServices Include:
• Fugitive Emissions Surveys
• Leak Detection & Repair (LDAR)
• Fugitive Emissions Management Plan (FEMP)Development
• Emission Detection & Quantification
• Methane Reduction Retrofit Compliance Plan (MRRCP)
• Regulatory Compliance Management: AER,OGC, BC WCI GHG, and Sask ER
• Annual Reporting for Methane Emissions Compliance
PROGRAM BENEFITS
• Regulatory Compliance &Environmental Stewardship
Emission standards are increasing as anational focus and updated provincial regulations require fugitive emissions management.
• Increased Safety for Facility Workers &Surrounding Communities
Reducing emissions from leakingequipment has the direct benefit ofreducing occupational exposure tohazardous compounds. Prolongedexposure is linked to chronic negative.
health effects.
• Potential Reduction in Emission Fees
Some jurisdictions charge annual feesthat are based on total facility emissions.A facility with an effective program canpotentially reduce these fees.
• Reduced Product Loss
In the petrochemical industry, saleableproducts are lost whenever emissionsescape from process equipment. Lostproduct translates into lost revenue.
o Estimated petroleum refineries could reduce emissions from equipment leaks by 63% with the implementation of a facility LDAR program.
o Estimated chemical facilities could reduce VOC emissions by 56% with the implementation of a facility LDAR program.

THEIR EXPERTISE
Fugitive emissions management program offers the complete range of low fugitive emission sealing products – for both new valves and retrofits. When combined with an application-specific live-loading system they achieve leakage rates that are consistently lower than those required by legislation. Our low fugitive emission sealing products comply with ISO 15848 (Parts 1 and 2), Clean Air Act, API 622, API 624, VDI 2440, and TA-Loft. Valves, especially control valves, account for approximately 60 % of the leakage loss in a plant. For processes containing hazardous fluids, conventional packings can be replaced with low emission sealing sets. Fugitive emission control (FEC) sealing products are ideal to increase plant safety and efficiency and to improve environmental protection. Therefore their “Best Available Technology” (BAT) products are approved by leading end users and OEM manufacturers.
