About Me

Gary Matthew Payne is a California transplant who knew what he wanted to do from a young age. While many children take their love of video games or music for granted and treat it as a hobby, Gary pursued it further. He would create music, listen to audio and visual recordings, and be interested in online and offline design. He has worked as a Senior Web Developer for many of the world's leading companies, the most notable of which is Motorsport Games, which is bringing the NASCAR franchise online. He is now a Senior Web Development professional with a diverse portfolio whose mission is to bridge the technological divide for his otherwise successful corporate clients.

Gary's expertise is admired and sought after by the big names; he also frequently works with smaller shops, medium-sized businesses, start-ups, and other privately held corporations. The race to the WEB3.0 landscape has given him the authority and flexibility he requires to handpick his clients and ensure they are properly cared for, especially in the fast-paced world of the California tech industry.

Gary began his foray into technology when he was very young. He has loved video games and computers for as long as he can remember. While many people abandoned it at that point, he became fascinated with how it worked, including the visual and audio design. While many people play video games to unwind and have fun, Gary couldn't help but wonder what made a good game function and how it was designed to become an addictive enjoyment to most of those experiencing what is on the screen.

Gary Matthew Payne spent years running his own small business, repairing, buying, and selling used computers while gaining experience working with his father's small business as a teenager. This hands-on approach would come in handy when working at the highest levels of management in various industries.

In his spare time, he began learning about technology and design by watching videos and reading books. Like many others interested in technology, he did not find many resources at school to help him develop his passion, hobby, and what would eventually become his career. When he was a teenager, he used what he had learned by creating a highly successful adaptation of the popular game "Pong" in C#. This demonstrated that he was on the right track for his life's journey and knew he needed to attend the best schools to broaden his knowledge in this field.

Gary went on to study Graphic Design at the University of Colorado-Boulder and completed several programs at Harvard University, one of the world's most prestigious schools and programs. Among the many certifications and honors he has received throughout his career, Gary is most proud of completing the CS50 program at Harvard University. It is highly sought after and confirms that he is a multi-faceted expert in web development, game development, and even mobile development.

As a teenager, Gary Matthew Payne ran his own computer repair business, and his career as a Graphic Designer and WordPress Developer began. Despite his lack of national recognition, Gary knew he would eventually work with some of the industry's most influential names. Nonetheless, he began his career at a local agency, working alongside Senior Designers, Developers, and Project Managers. His primary responsibility was to deliver themes, plug-ins, and websites to the agency's customers. To this day, this is one of the most outsourced jobs, as most businesses prefer to hire agencies or freelancers to manage their "website," which typically includes both the visual and content aspects.

Gary would go on to work with start-ups and prominent names in the industry, utilizing the knowledge he gained on the job and his extensive education (such as computer science and web development from Harvard). He would work for Intel, Honda, Artesian Builds, Motorsport Games NASCAR, and other accounts that he cannot reveal. He learned the most from bringing the NASCAR, Motorsport Games lineup, and 704 Games online throughout his experiences. He has contributed to several titles, including NASCAR Heat 5, rFactor 2, and NASCAR: Ignition.

He delivered everything on time in his projects and proactively sought and determined ways to reduce the friction between development and launch. Notably, the games were facilitated in a much shorter time frame, reducing development needs from 6 weeks to one week, all while maintaining performance, sustainability, and user experience. He has generally benefited from every project he has worked on or led in the industry.

Gary Matthew Payne has decided to offer his services to any company, agency, or client who needs his unique skills. Responsive web design, full-stack development, and professional project management are part of this. Payne employs the agile method as a project leader and individual contributor.

Gary believes strongly in giving back to the community that raised him. As a child, his love of the outdoors helped him through difficult times, and national parks were where he could recharge and reflect on pivotal moments in his life. As a result, when Gary became wealthy, he became a regular contributor to various organizations across the country that help the less fortunate, such as the Trust for Public Land, which works to conserve and develop our beautiful park systems, and Code.org, which works to increase access to computer science education in our public school systems.

Gary actively sought to give back to the world in terms of his expertise, ensuring that his distinct skill-set is not lost on the world, and with years of experience in Project Management for the Construction industry. Gary volunteered his time and knowledge to the Non-Profit Organization YesLiberia between 2012 and 2013, whose compassionate approach touched Gary to his core. The organization required assistance in researching and designing practical solar lighting for small villages in Liberia, Africa. Following his work, studies revealed that villages with reliable lighting systems would significantly reduce nocturnal crime.
