Ronny confronts Rajiv and Sophia. He had overheard Rajiv discussing the failed murder attempt with the hitman and had been playing along the whole time so he could get the insurance money from his own faked death along with the insurance money from Rajiv's death. He allows Rajiv one last chance to win by agreeing to a car race. Ronny and Sonia show up in a yellow Toyota Supra and Rajiv and Sophia in a blue Nissan Skyline. When Rajiv protests, he switches cars with Ronny. Rajiv anticipated the switch and had destroyed the Nissan's brakes. In the middle of the race, Ronny tells Rajiv that he planted a bomb in his car and it will detonate if Rajiv slows below 100 kmph.

As the race continues, the two cars dodge obstacles (a boat hitched to a car, a group of cyclists, two trucks in a line, etc.). As they reach a parking lot, Rajiv attempts to cross a ramp, in order to overtake Ronny. This causes the Supra to crash into a caravan, topple over and knock into a petroleum tank, killing Rajiv and Sophia. After Ronny and Sonia narrowly escape death, Ronny confesses to Sonia that there was no bomb in the car and Rajiv killed himself. He also expresses his grief in realising to what extent did Rajiv go, even destroying the brakes, to deceive and kill the former.

Saif Ali Khan was offered a choice between playing Ranvir or Rajiv. He initially expressed interest in playing the latter. The producers informed him that if he played Rajiv, then Akshay Kumar would be offered the role of Ranvir. Khan finally opted to play Ranvir. Fardeen Khan was then signed for the role of Rajiv, but he later withdrew from the film, as he was committed to Heyy Babyy (2007). At one point, Abhishek Bachchan was approached for the role of Ranvir, but things did not work out.[4]

The soundtrack of Race was released by Tips Music on 4 February 2008.[5] Composed by Pritam with lyrics by Sameer, Race had 7 original songs, 9 remixes and an instrumental theme. The song "Khwab Dekhe (Sexy Lady)" sung by Monali Thakur and Neeraj Shridhar was recorded after the release of the soundtrack, replacing the original song "Mujh Pe Toh Jadoo" in the film. Tips then re-distributed the soundtrack, adding "Khwab Dekhe (Sexy Lady)" after the release of the film. All the remix versions were produced by DJ Suketu feat.

According to a Network 18 report, "Pehli Nazar Mein" and "Zara Zara Touch Me" were directly copied from the Korean song "Sa Rang Haeo" of Korean series Sassy Girl and Leehom Wang's "Deep Within a Bamboo Grove".[11] Sony BMG Taiwan has issued a legal letter to Tips Industries claiming damages for the song "Zara Zara Touch Me".[12][13]

Race mainly received critical acclaim from both audience and critics, by praising the film's screenplay, cast performance, music, visualisation, charecterization, plot, dialogues, editing and technical aspects. Raja Sen gave the film 4.5 out of 5 stars, saying it was a "carnival of twists".[14] However, Taran Adarsh gave the film 4 out of 5 stars, stating that "Race is a superb entertainer all the way", and that it "has not just style, but a lot of substance too".[15]

"The Race" is the debut single by American rapper Tay-K. It was originally released on SoundCloud independently on June 16, 2017,[1] but was later re-released for digital download and streaming by 88 Classic and RCA Records on July 29, 2017. The song charted at number 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and is from his debut mixtape, Santana World.[2][3]

Tay-K (whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre) recorded and released "The Race" while a fugitive from the police after escaping house arrest before his trial on capital murder charges.[4] Tay-K makes references to this during the song, with the chorus being: "Fuck a beat, I was tryna beat a case. But I ain't beat that case, bitch I did the race."[5] The charges (on which McIntyre was later convicted) stemmed from a home invasion where 21 year old Ethan Walker was killed.[6]

The song was later presented during the sentencing phase of Tay-K's trial on the aforementioned murder charges as it appeared that he was boasting about being on the run from authorities.[5] During the chorus of the song, Tay-K says:

McIntyre released several songs while on the run from the police, including "The Race", which was recorded during McIntyre's stay in New Jersey and the music video was released on YouTube two hours after his capture.[7] "The Race" debuted at number 70 on the US Billboard Hot 100 after a large hashtag campaign pursuing the release of McIntyre using the hashtag "#FREETAYK".[8] "The Race" peaked at 44 on the Billboard Hot 100.

McIntyre premiered the official music video for "The Race" on June 30, 2017 on the ALL BUT 6 YouTube channel.[10] The song quickly went viral with Shawn Cotton, the owner of a popular rap news page, Say Cheese TV, confirming that it was shot while Tay-K was on the run and became a smash hit. "It's real. Look at the story. It's so authentic. It's real, and he has the story to back up. Rappers talk shit all day about what they do, but everything he's saying, happened. It's like Tay-K was telling us a story. It's like we're little kids about to go to bed, and Tay-K's telling us a story about himself, and he's visualizing it in the video. And it happened. It's all on the news."[11] Its music video currently has over 200 million views on YouTube. The video was also used as evidence at Tay K's trial for robbery and murder in July 2019. He was sentenced to 55 years in prison.[12]

Motivated by the well-established benefits to society of artistic creation and of demographic diversity, we investigate the gender and racial/ethnic composition of influential contributors to four creative domains. Women make up 51% of the U.S. population but are underrepresented at influential levels of contemporary art (28%), high fashion (45%), box office film (27%), and popular music (17%). Marginalized racial/ethnic groups make up 39% of the U.S. population yet comprise approximately half that figure in contemporary art (22%), high fashion (22%), and box office film (19%). Black musical artists have higher representation (48%), though higher representation does not equate with equity and inclusion. As for intersecting identities, white men are overrepresented in all four domains by factors ranging from 1.4 to 2 as compared to the U.S. population, and most other gender-racial/ethnic groups are further minoritized. Our study is the first comprehensive, comparative, empirical look at intersecting identities across creative fields. The exclusion of marginalized individuals, including those who are women, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black, Latinx, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, is severe. The lack of self-expressed demographic data is a challenge, as is the erasure of certain identity groups from the American Community Survey, including agender, gender noncomforming, nonbinary, and transgender individuals. These are challenges that, if addressed, would enhance our collective understanding of diversity in creative fields.

Our current study strives to move the conversation about exclusion in the creative arts briskly forward. While there may be instinctual or anecdotal understanding of the severity of under-representation of minoritized groups within creative fields, empirical evidence is still scarce. Thus, we take a broad look at the socially inferred demographic identities of individuals across four creative domains in the present day: contemporary art, fashion, film, and popular music. Moreover, we focus on the levels of these fields that might traditionally be thought of as being influential: major U.S. art museums, high fashion runway shows, Hollywood box office films, and top popular music charts.

Our work makes four high-level contributions. First, by bringing together assessments from these fields, we are for the first time able to highlight similarities and differences among them. Second, we study gender and race/ethnicity jointly in each of these fields, enabling us to assess intersecting identities. Third, we make comparisons between the socially inferred demographics of creative contributors and the demographics of the U.S. population, emphasizing degrees of under-representation for certain groups. Finally, we highlight a transparent and semi-automated methodology so that our study could be repeated over time in order to assess change.

Based on our study of 2229 contemporary artists, 889 fashion designers, 1580 film cast/crew, and 221 popular musicians, our primary results are as follows. While women make up 51% of the U.S. population, we find that they are underrepresented in contemporary art (28%), fashion (45%), box office film (27%), and popular music (17%). Minority racial/ethnic groups make up 39% of the U.S. population yet barely comprise half that in contemporary art (22%), fashion (22%), and film (19%). Black musical artists have higher representation (48%), though higher representation does not equate with equity and inclusion. As for intersecting identities, white men are overrepresented in all four domains by factors ranging from 1.4 to 2, and most other gender-racial/ethnic groups are further minoritized. be457b7860
