Adriano Garsia's 90th Birthday Conference

New Directions in Algebraic Combinatorics

The aim of this conference is to identify future work in algebraic combinatorics and its related fields, including symmetric function theory, representation theory, and many other areas.

The conference will feature 4 speakers a day as we wish to leave ample time between talks so that participants can collaborate and initiate new projects. There will also be opportunities for young researchers to present an interesting question or open problem in the form of a poster or a short "lightning talk".

To apply to give a lightning talk, submit a title, abstract, and summary (not to exceed 2 pages) in PDF format to garsia.festival@gmail.com by February 28, 2019. Priority will be given to graduate students and researchers who received their Ph.D on or after August 2014. Decisions will be made by March 15, 2019

We're happy to announce that both the NSF and the NSA have graciously agreed to help cover travel costs for graduate students and early career individuals. To apply for funding, see the funding tab above.

Adriano Garsia's contribution to the field is as fundamental as legendary and we will happily use this opportunity to celebrate his 90th birthday.

Conference fees are $200 for graduate students/postdocs and $300 for everyone else.
