 Exceptional Talent and Performance: Critics and local music hubs like Tucson Loves Music describe them as having "amazing talent" and a "strong" presence in the youth music scene. Individual members have been noted for bringing diverse influences—including jazz, country, and pop-punk—into a cohesive sound.

Major Competition Wins: A frequently cited milestone is their first-place win in the group category of Alice Cooper’s Proof is in the Pudding music competition. This win led to high-profile opportunities, including opening for multiple rock legends at Coopstock 2026. They also won the DUSK Battle of the Bands, Oro Valley Battle of the Bands, and PVCC Battle of the Bands in Phoenix.

National Recognition: The press has closely followed their journey to the 2026 International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, where they represented the Northern Arizona Blues Alliance and the Southern Arizona Blues Heritage Foundation in the Youth Showcase. They were featured in the Sept 2025 edition of Indie Ion Magazine, and Featured on the Geri Petito national Poscast 

Stevie Ray Vaughan Comparisons: Local reviewers have specifically praised Garrett James as a "highly talented vocalist and guitarist" who performs "an amazing Stevie Ray Vaughan". Garrett James and The Wanderers are a young, blues-rock band. The intricate guitar work and powerful vocals have been compared to - "Stevie Ray Vaughan meets Chuck Berry".

Professional Peer Support: Fellow musicians, such as the band Black Cat Bones, have publicly endorsed them, calling  Garrett James an "amazing musician" and expressing excitement for the band's progression.

With over 175 performances under Garrett's belt, the bands experiences include winning Alice Coopers Proof is in the Pudding 2025,  2026 IBC in Memphis TN, Alice Cooper Coopstock Opener 2026,DUSK Battle of the Bands Winner 2025, OV Battle of the Band Winner 2025, PVCC Phoenix Battle of the Band Winner 2025, Fox Theater with Tony Kishman, Rialto Theater,  Sedona Red Rocking Blues Festival, Gaslight Music Hall, Southern AZ Blues Fest, DUSK Music Festival, Oro Valley Blues Fest, Goodyear Music Fest, Goodyear AZ Rock the BBQ Festival, Bike Week Scottsdale, Westside Blues Club, Phx AZ, La Rosa Tucson, 3x MLB Games and many others...

The band has experience recording in 5 different studios across Arizona.
