That deletes the activities but not the health data. How does one delete ALL the previous user's data? I cannot for the life of me figure it out because I received a previous user's watch, and now all their health data is on my account, even after resetting the device and deleting all the activities. It also still has all the record data of the previous user, and I won't be coming close to those records for myself, so that information will be on there forever, it seems. If someone can help delete all this info, that would be very helpful.

Existing data can be deleted using small trash bin or gear icons. Those are near each record, so it's the easiest to remove. Other data for selected day can be removed on the Daily Summary pages using the gear icon. A watch has limited memory, so probably won't be too much, unless you mean it's a watch with previous user account, then better just create a new one.

Unfortunately, I don't see any trash bins or gear icons that have the option for deleting, for instance, the Most Steps in a Day statistic. I certainly don't see anything in the Garmin Connect iPhone app, and in the web browser on my pc all I see is a gear icon at the top of the page under with two options: (1) Customize layout, and (2) Export Original. Under , the data is all tabulated, showing many tens of thousands of steps that I've not taken, but there's nothing to remove this information. It's the only tab for me that has data in it within the Personal Records menu. If there's a way to delete this information, it's lost on me.

While all the data has now been deleted, and the device has been re-synced with Garmin Connect, I still have the previous user's PRs, though I expect there is some sort of lag in the system before the personal records are updated with the new data. Maybe it takes a day or so? Hmm...

When you find that after syncing, part of the data is still missing in your Garmin Connect Account (for example the heart rate, steps, Intensity Minutes, or Activities), then there are basically the following possibilities. The most common and the most likely reason in most cases is the #4.

When the synchronization works (the white sync circle closes and turns green), but not all the data is appearing in your account, then it very probably means that there is problems with the association of your device to the GC account. Again, try restarting the watch (if you did not just do it), and shutting down the GC Mobile app (iOS: swipe it up in the iOS App Switcher; Android: Android SettingsĀ  AppsĀ  ConnectĀ  Force to Stop), and then restarting it. If it does not help, remove the device from Garmin Connect, and then add it back again. If it does not help do all these steps:

The storage (or a FIT file storing the Activity details or HR data and the steps data) is damaged or full. Try backing up and deleting old files from the folder //GARMIN/Activity and //GARMIN/Monitor. Look up the last unsynced activities from the folder //GARMIN/Activity, and try importing them manually on the Import Data page of GC Web. If you get errors when trying to import them, try fixing the broken files by passing them through the Section Remover of FIT File Tools (without removing anything), and then importing again the repaired file(s).

In similar way, you can export and import also the daily data (Steps, HR, Calories, IMs, Stress, Sleep, ...). Just instead of the Activity pages, export the data from the Daily Summary of the secondary (unwanted) account for every day missing in the main account.

I would like to thank you for this troubleshooting guide. By following your instructions I was able to resolve an issue with my wife's Instinct not syncing all of her data with both the Connect mobile app and the Connect web application. Thank you!

No data/metrics were lost in the process. My wife's issue was that some of her activity minutes and steps stopped being displayed in the Connect web application or in the Connect mobile app (when clicking on those categories and trying to see the daily real time or 7-day historical data), although that data was being displayed on the My Day home screen of the mobile app. All of the data was on the watch, however. No, her Instinct is not connected to any other fitness or health apps. Hope this helps you sort things out.

But I am having issues getting historical data from Garmin ConnectĀ

I have created a new account and configured it for getting data from Garmin Connect, my training today has been synchronized, but all the historical data have not appeared in intervals.icu. I have tried several time to request it for getting old data from the last year, but without any luck.

there is a way to ask garmin for the whole data block and import that into intervals. I think it is linked in settings how to achieve this. It will take a few days though until you get the link and potentially a few more days until it is all in intervals.

If something went wrong the first call, Garmin is not accepting anymore requests in this way.

Just use the Import all Garmin data option and within a couple of days, you will get a download link with one or more ZIP files that you can import in Intervals.

Any luck with this? I just got a Fenix 6S for Christmas, and it pushes my runs from Garmin to MapMyRun just fine... however... trying to get my past runs from MapMyRun into my new Garmin account is proving extremely difficult. Super frustrated/disappointed at this point. I've tried downloading the data from MapMyRun as a csv file and as a gpx file - Garmin won't recognize either. Surely there's a way to push old runs into the Garmin account? Help?!

nope, no luck. I just gave up. I think it might work with a third app like strava. then you will need to export to strava and then sync strava with garmin. however I didn't try this so I can't tell you for sure. if you try and it works let know :) enjoy the holiday

I finally managed to transfer all my Polar data (workouts) to Garmin Connect via web import. You might use this instructions for other purposes also.Ā

- Download all the Polar data (support.polar.com/.../how-to-download-all-your-data-from-polar-flow) - unzip -> json files (I had about 3000)

- Convert from json to .fit using a web tool -converter/. Unzip files.Ā

- Import from Garmin connect web (connect.garmin.com/.../import-data) in baches like 150-200 in one time. If the page is not responding you have reduce the amount of files. This goes pretty fast.

1st I tried using the Andrid app SyncMuTracks but it always failed after a while. To my understanding you have to sync also in smaller patches like define import/export settings 1-2 months it might work. I did managed to sync many workouts to Garmin connect via this tool so I in order to avoid dublicates (with the import) I needed to remove some converted tif files from my computer (easy to see the dates).Ā

I also tries coping the the .fit-files to Fenix 6 x pro Activities folder which took ages (better to transfer files to this mass stage in small paches like 300-400) and did not show anywhere. Instead when using Garmin Express PC tool it started to sync something for ages and needed to kill the program.

I got a new smartphone, installed the Garmin Connect app and started synchronising with my Fenix 5 Plus. However, only new activities and data are visible. All the old data is not shown in the app and neither on desktop. The activities are still on my watch, but it doesn't Transfer the Info to the app.

All your data should just show up, regardless of which phone or which device you're using. This is assuming your old activities were recorded and saved to Garmin Connect. Make sure that when you install the Garmin Connect app you're using the same Garmin account user name that you used on your old phone.

I had to reset my password in Garmin connect and I lost 4 years of data!!!! I have used three different devices this far and has always worked in Garmin Connect in maintaining my data. Now all is gone in connect but if I check my devise under sync reports - I see the data. I tried to import it to connect and it doesn't, of course, recognise the files.....

You probably don't. Or you had the device associated with two acounts already before, without noticing it (which happens indeed often to people, especially when they reinstalled the app or changed the phone), and the device was storing the data in the other account than the one you believe you were using.

Thanks - I tried through connections and i do see two accounts. I feel so relieved. please and me an email address that I can i send my details to merge these two account.Ā

my question still remains - I only changed the password and when I signed in, me contact details remained the same as the last!!! I am just so confused.

Hi there, can I ask if you ever found a solution to this please? i had the same today, bought new phone signed into connect using same email and forgot password link, garmin seems to have set up a second account for me because i can see my old profile pic through connections on my husbands garmin, None of my old data is showing on the new one!

I just upgraded to a new phone and performed a data transfer from old phone to new phone. All data seem to have transferred but my data from Garmin connect. I can sync my descent mk1 to my new phone but then I would have to re-enter all my dive logs and I have over 300 dives. Anyway to get all my data off my old phone to my new phone?

You do not need to transfer anything. You just need to sign into the same account, when installing the app on a new phone, instead of signing up for a new account. If you did already, disconnect your watch from the new GC app, sign out, and sign back in with the original credentials. The data still sits there.

The data does not download anywhere - the GC Mobie app does not use any local storage for the data (except of some temporary files). The data is online, on the server of Garmin, and it does not matter whether you access it from one phone or another, or from a web browser - the content and the speed of loading will be the same, as long as you are logged into the same account. 2351a5e196
