• July 2026: First PhD and MSR students joint the μBiD group. Welcome to the team Goutham, Harshit and Foram!

• June 2026: Aviha started his MTech thesis! We are looking to work together to understand desirable AMPs and designing their biomimetics.

• May 2026: SURA project selected from the lab! Tanay and Monil (B.Tech, Maths and Computing @ IITD)  will be working on Stochastic Reaction Network Modeling and Optimal Control of Bacterial Populations Under Stress.

• May 2026:  Visiting Fellowship at AIBN, University of Queensland, as part of the UQ–IITD delegation to attend the symposium and establish long-term collaboration activities. Fun event with lots of promising opportunities. Looking forward!

• January 2026: Attended the first cohort meeting of the Johns Hopkins India RISE Fellows in Bangalore, along with visits to IISc and industry partners.

• January 2026: New year! New Beginning! Teaching Fluid Mechanics course to B.Tech (2nd yr) at IITD. Looking forward to exciting chapter of teaching and learning!

• December 2025: Great News! Awarded Johns Hopkins Gupta Klinsky India RISE Fellowship, for working on bloom formation in riverine ecosystems.

• November 2025: Delivered a talk on "How soft is too soft for growing bacterial colonies" in COMPFLU-2025. 

• August 2025: Preprint of our manuscript is out- https://arxiv.org/abs/2508.01021. The work discusses how substrate material properties governs spatiotemporal dyamics and self-organization in growing bacterial colonies!

• August 2025: Excited to begin a new chapter at the Department of Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DBEB), IIT Delhi as Assistant Professor. 

• June 2025: Invited at Soft Matter Young Investigator's Meet, Shimla. It was great to meet soft matter community in India. Had fruitful discussions for future collaborations!

• April 2025: Participated in ISRO-Academia Connect  at NIT Kurukshetra. Great insights into the possible future collaborations with ISRO! Looking forward to exciting opportunities.

• March 2025: Our manuscript on Bacterial Adhesion on Soft Surfaces: The Dual Role of Substrate Stiffness and Bacterial Growth Stage is now published in Microorganisms!

• February 2025: Joined IIIT Delhi as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computational Biology. Excited to start journey as group leader.

• February 2025:Visited the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taipei, where I was hosted by Prof. Tetsuya Hiraiwa. Had several fruitful discussions with colleagues at Academia Sinica and the Kao Lab at NCYU, Taipei. Looking forward to exciting new collaborations!

• January 2025: Thrilled to participate in the Wellcome Discovery grant meeting at the University of Sheffield, UK. Looking forward to insightful discussions on our collaborative work!

• December 2024: Visited the Department of Mathematics, Charles University, Prague, Czechia. Had great discussions for fruitful collaborations on cell wall remodeling!

• November 2024: Engaging visit to Aalto University, Finland, exploring collaboration avenues on biomechanics of the cell envelope and antimicrobial agent design.

• September 2024: Excited to participate in the NCBI Virtual Codeathon: "Resistance is Futile: A Codeathon to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance".

• August 2024: Our manuscript on genealogical demixing and its role in regulating organizational entropy in growing bacterial colonies is now published in Biophysical Reports (Cell Press)!

• July 2024: Preprint of our manuscript "Substrate stiffness modulates bacterial adhesion and diversity of adherent phenotypes across growth stages" is out!

• January 2024: Moved to Germany to continue my HFSP Fellowship in the Theoretical Microbial Ecology group at Friedrich Schiller University Jena!

• November 2023: Speaker at the Simons Symposium, Sakleshpur, India. Great meeting!

• September 2023: Our manuscript "Activity-driven emergence of genealogical enclaves in growing bacterial colonies" is now on bioRxiv! I developed a label-free algorithm to track lineages in phase contrast-microscopic images to study spatiotemporal mixing dynamics in bacterial agglomerations.

• April 2023:  Excited to be a panel member for HFSP Postdoctoral Fellowships: What They Are and How to Get One?, part of IndiaBioscience's International Grants Awareness Program (iGAP). Watch on Youtube

• January 2023: Co-instructor and tutor for the Physics of Living Matter course (Masters/PhD) at the Department of Physics and Materials Science, University of Luxembourg.

• August 2022: Participated in the 21st HFSP Awardees Meeting at Institut Pasteur, Paris, France.

• November 2021: Moved to Luxembourg to join as an HFSP Cross-Disciplinary Fellow in the Physics of Living Matter Group!

• June 2021: Collaboration with Prof. Kenichi Kuroda’s group on anionic AM peptide mimics is now published in RSC Advances!

• April 2021: Honored to receive the prestigious HFSP Cross-Disciplinary Fellowship!

• January 2021:Manuscript on ternary AM polymers and their interaction with bacterial membranes accepted in Soft Matter!
