Rodenticides, used to control rats and mice, can also affect other wildlife. Studies have found widespread exposure to rodenticides in hedgehogs across Europe, suggesting that current rodent control practices may put many hedeghogs at risk.

How you can help
Because rodenticides are commonly used to control rats and mice around homes, gardens are important places for understanding how hedgehogs may be exposed to these chemicals.
We are asking members of the public to help collect the data we need. Our studies pose no risk to hedgehogs or other wildlife and will help us understand how hedgehogs are exposed to rodenticides.
