Additional information about GardenBedsByOC
I obtain quality and durable material when completing each order. We use a combination wood of Spruce, Pine, and Fir.
**Why do I not use Cedar wood you may ask?**
Cedar wood is definitely a front runner for garden beds because it stays cool in very hot summer days insulating your plants better, and it's rot resistant! But did you know that Spruce, Pine, and Fir essentially do the same thing?! This creates a more cost effective, reliable product. However, for our raised bed option, the bottom is cedar which is holding the dirt!
Additionally, each box gets stained with an ECO-Friendly Water-Based Clear Stain to protect your garden and plants for YEARS to come!
Each box is assembled with accurate measurements and supports to ensure durability and longevity. The legs on the raised boxes are 4 x 4 to support the heavy weight of dirt.
The wood used is "dry", meaning the wood is not pressure treated. This ensures no harmful chemicals are getting absorbed into your soil. (This is a benefit of the ECO-Friendly Water Based Stain).
After assembly, each box is sanded, and the top edges are routed to give the box a smooth and finished look. Save your wood splinters for someone else!
You will see in the Google Form that I have three generic sizes available. However, I accept custom orders as well! (Please see the photo in the gallery section of the two boxes that are raised 40 inches).
Our large box holds 10.5 Cubic Feet of dirt, which is about 7 bags of soil! Lots of room for those vegetable roots to spread out!
