The tablet has a nice overall design with a simple black surface for drawing. It has a fairly big active area, but the tablet itself should fit into any standard backpack or bag along with your laptop.

The surface of this tablet is very smooth with a little texture. It is the exact same texture used on the Huion New 1060 Plus.

However, unlike with the Huion New 1060 Plus, drawing on the GAOMON M10K felt kind of slippery at times. This most likely has something to do with the pen nib material and how it interacts with the tablet surface, but all you need to know is that it felt a little slippery.

The expresskeys on this tablet all feel fantastic. The buttons all give great feedback when clicked and are very easy to click no matter where you press on them, and the touch wheel works very smoothly.

Unfortunately, despite how good the actual buttons are, the programming on them is different from standard expresskeys and severely limit expresskey users.

The tablet has a pen holder on the right side, but it is very loose around the pen and should not be trusted to hold your pen securely. The idea is nice, but it is clear it was not made for the included pen.

The touch wheel is also quite disappointing in that it only has 2 functions and no free customization of its functions. The middle button of the touch wheel is also only for bringing up the tablet driver and cannot be configured.

This tablet gave me a fairly good drawing experience aside from the times where it felt like the surface was too slippery for me to control my lines properly. I am still unsure what causes this tablet to feel slippery when the Huion New 1060 Plus, which has the exact same surface texture, did not feel slippery at all.

Drawing on the GAOMON M10K certainly did not feel like drawing on paper, but it gives a nice drawing experience nonetheless.

The stroke control for this tablet is very good and the lines taper quite nicely for both long and short strokes. You can see a slight bit of wobble when doing slow lines with a ruler, but they are extremely slight and should not affect drawing at all.

The pen pressure was decently easy to control, but I had to change the pressure curve to be a little harder because the pen pressure felt too soft to me.

The GAOMON M106K most likely uses the same PCB as the Huion New 1060 Plus as it has the same number of buttons, the overall tablet layout is the same, and it also uses the same pen. The GAOMON M106K also uses drivers which are likely a derivative of the Huion drivers based on the appearance and layout.

Basically, the GAOMON M106K is the Huion New 1060 Plus with a different aesthetic.

This command will list all usb connected and their ID, the name shorten list into 'ls' and 'usb'. In front of the line with the Gaomon tablet, mine is 256c:006e. This number shouldn't change if you use a M10K 2018 model; but sometime, brands produce new version of their hardware and it might change a bit.

Now we will create a script. It is just a series of command written line by line on a text file; so the computer will execute all of them. Each line will setup one aspect of your tablet. Line starting by character # are not read by the computer, so I added some notes to guide you in the customisation of the script. Open a non-rich text editor (eg. Micro, Kate, Geany, Gnome text also called nautilus, etc...) and copy/paste the script under:

If you want to go further, user TwistyDev on Gitlab published a more advanced version based on xinput and a Python script. The script can switch profiles between blender and krita and has a systray icon. You can find gaomon-m10k-2018-linux-configuration-script here.

Rejecting brands this way is something I do very often. Not daily, but easily on a monthly basis. I probably got already all existing brands of tablets reaching my mailbox thanks to the good statistic on the channel.

This is a 10 x 6 inch drawing tablet that supports tilt and 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity with a pen that is battery-free. Retail price is US $69 which may or may not include free shipping depending on who you buy from. The pricing is quite competitive.

When I connected the tablet to my Xiaomi Android phone (yes I know it's crushes quite badly), pressure sensitivity works fine. However, only the left side of the tablet is mapped to the vertical orientation of the phone. Thankfully the cursor is visible.

We have 10 shortcut keys that we can assign to whatever shortcut we want. Now, as always, this all depends on how heavily do you depend on shortcuts, but personally, I believe these are enough for the most used actions on any drawing software.

So switching from on the other will feel weird at first. Figuring out which of your monitors you want to be your main, where do you open this or that. Do I open this window on the tablet screen or the other? What makes the most sense?

The S620 has a Points Per Second (PPS), also known as Reports Per Second (RPS), of 266 PPS. Basically, this is the speed of information per second between the graphics tablet and the computer. So, technically, the higher the PPS speed the less lag there is. I think the average PPS is around 200 and with this graphics tablet having 266 there was very little lag that I noticed.

Using the S620 tablet on my Samsung Note 10+ phone was interesting. I was able to use the pen as a mouse to navigate through my phone fairly easily. My Samsung has an included S-Pen stylus but its super thin as compared to the pen of the S620, which is larger and feels more comfortable to use.

For its modest size and features, the GAOMON S620 Graphics Tablet performs well and gets the job done. I find that it works just as well as my Wacom Intuos Pro minus the extra features of the Wacom. So, if you have only a limited space for a graphics tablet at your work area, or if you just need a smaller portable tablet on the go, then the S620 would be a good alternative to a larger graphics tablet.

Hey. I just got a drawing tablet. lsusb detects it as GAOMON Gaomon Tablet, which is correct (model is S620) but cant find any way to make the OS recognize the buttons the tablet has (the two buttons on the pen work fine).

When I plug in the USB cable, Ubuntu does seem to recognize what's going on. Under settings, a tab for Wacom tablets shows up that isn't there otherwise. But when I go to that tab, it tells me that neither the tablet nor the stylus have been recognized. To configure the stylus, it tells me to move it closer to the tablet, which doesn't seem to do anything. There are no prompts to configure the tablet, only a link to the bluetooth settings. I'm guessing this is intended for bluetooth-operated tablets.

The 15.6 inch pen display with 12.5mm in thickness and weighs only 1.3kg is always ready to support your creativity no matter when and where the inspiration strikes. The tablet has an overall dimension of 442 x 274 x 12.5 mm, making it easier to carry in your backpack.

Here are some photos of the tablet display in all its glory. It really is a beautiful looking product that feels great to touch. The size is perfect for anything you could throw at it, and it even comes with a travel sleeve so you can get creative outside the office.

What makes the setup even more impressive is there are two different options. Option one (shown above) is the easiest, simply going direct from tablet to computer. Option two involves adding an additional power cable to the configuration. Too easy!

My configuration included a Macbook Pro Retina Display and a LG HDR 4K Display. Even though the PD156 PRO has a smaller resolution (1920 x 1080) in comparison, I really didn't notice it compared to other tablet display monitors that I have used previously. All buttons and UI text was easy to read without obvious banding or pixelation.

This is my first GAOMON product that I've ever used. In all honesty, I really didn't know much about the company or its product range until recently. During my career I've always used Wacom tablets and displays, but the price point can be inhibitive to many and with products like the GAOMON PD156 PRO, they have some serious competition on their hands.

I think the tablet display is a solid investment and a great way to help improve your creative skills. If you're still using a mouse or trackpad to do anything design related, then you are kidding yourself. Save your pennies, do what you need to do. Invest in yourself. You will not regret the decision.

Whether you plan to use your drawing tablet professionally, personally or somewhere in between, finding the right one may seem daunting. However, even the most affordable drawing tablets in this day and age include useful features and pressure sensitivity, so you can still do a lot with them no matter what your price point is.

Another major factor affecting which drawing tablet is best is the size of the drawing surface. While it may not be a dealbreaker for many digital artists, a larger drawing tablet can allow the user to work on a larger area within the drawing, without having to scroll around to different spots. Alternatively, some may prefer smaller drawing tablets that are more lightweight or easier to transport. 006ab0faaa
