My academic interests revolve around quantum mechanics, with a focus on the theoretical and mathematical point of view.
In particular, I am currently studying the interplay between boundary effects, geometrical and topological aspects of Schrödinger's and Dirac's equations, and gauge theories. Fruitful arenas for my research are, for example, quantum billiards and other low-dimensional bounded systems, the quantum Hall effect, the Casimir effect and the Aharonov-Bohm effect. The mathematical techniques I employ for the analysis of these systems are related with spectral theory, the theory of self-adjoint extensions via (quantum) boundary conditions, and group theory.
