Horticulture Science and Practices
This course taught me all the fundamentals of plant characteristics, anatomy, physiology, nutrition uptake, water uptake, soil quality, pruning, grafting, layering, budding, hormonal effects, and how environmental factors affects plant growth.
Soil Science
This class helped me to understand the importance of soil texture, structure, pH, and organic matter in the normal growth and functioning of plant. I learned the things that helps to improve soil quality and the things that degrades the soil quality.
Plant Pathology
Plant pathology class was very important to class that introduces various pant pathogens, their general structure, characteristics, and importance. I learned about important methods for disease prevention and control.
Horticulture as a Profession
This course gave me some in-depth knowledge of different sectors of horticulture, how different countries or different states in the US are doing in horticulture, and how the future of horticulture is.
Plant Pathology Laboratory
Plant Pathology Lab gave me had on experience to identify different groups of pathogen. I learned, culturing bacteria in nutrient media, gram staining, DNA replication and electrophoresis, ELISA test, different methods of inoculating index plant.
Plant Propagation
This class with lab was extremely helpful in learning theoretical and practical knowledge of propagating plants successfully using different methods. I leaned the things to consider when selecting propagation material in different species, environmental effect on plant propagation, hormonal use for rooting of different types of cuttings, and tissue culture technique.
AgriFood Sales:
This class was very helpful in introducing how to be a professional salesperson. I learned about different personality types (DISC) and how to communicate with different personality of people. At the end of class, I sold mangoes to a group of professional salesperson invited by the professor. I also had an opportunity to mirror a professional sales person from Sysco Produce.
Economic Analysis
In this class, I learned about making enterprise budget for any enterprise. I know how to do economic analysis of any enterprise using three sensitivity analysis methods (Break Even, Data Table, and Scenario Manager). This class offered me an opportunity to learn several things about planning, managing, and operating business from the successful business professionals.
Financial Analysis
This class was a continuation of economic analysis in making a business plan for any type of business. This gave me an immense opportunity to interact with mentors from different field of expert at the mentoring forum, presenting my business pitch for my hydroponic business project, and poster presentation.
Nursery Management
This class gave me an immense amount of knowledge on things to consider when selecting plants, different methods to prevent others from selling your plant cultivar or variety, fertilizer application , irrigation, pest management, marketing, and branding. We visited some of the wholesale, re-wholesale, and retail nurseries and learned about their operation.
Greenhouse Management
This class was extremely. I learned from naming greenhouse parts, identifying good quality of greenhouse material, different types of heating and cooling system, and the effect of different environmental factors (humidity, temperature, sunlight, and water) in plant growth.

I enjoyed all the classes at Texas A&M because I only took the classes I was interested in.
To me, knowledge is more important that just graduation, so I extended one more semester to satisfy my learnings at A&M, even though learning never ends.
