Hello! My name is Ganesha and welcome to my website! I want everyone to know about me so I made a website on the World Wide Web so that everyone can have a chance to learn more about me and how I contribute to a part of Hinduism!

I am the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi and I have many, MANY origin stories, which you can learn about here (as soon as I add the rest of the stories)! Depending on the region of India, I have many names I go by. Some of these include Ganapathi, Ganesh, Vinayaka, Binayaka, and many more.

I am a very popular deity in the religion of Hinduism, and I am The God of New Beginnings, The Remover of Obstacles, and The God of Success. I am also known for being the deva of Intellect and Wisdom (Thank you, Mom and Dad). Everyone loves me because of my childlike demeanor, friendliness, and mostly because I am chill and give off "those vibes" that make me approachable! As you can see, I am a pretty important deity in Hinduism.

Below, I have included a snazzy diagram of the many symbols my body, vehicle (the animal I use to travel on), and prasada (offerings, or SWEETS!) represent.

There are also some other symbols that I believe are quite important to know about me:

  • My right tusk = wisdom
  • The right side of my body represents reasoning, while the left side represents emotion.
  • In many colored pictures of me, there are reds to symbolize activity in the world. The yellows represent purity, peace, and truthfulness.
  • Prasada, or more specifically the bowl of laddoos (my favorite food EVER!), represent me bequeathing prosperity to all of my followers.
  • And finally, my vehicle (vahana in Hindi), or the animal I use to travel on, is the mouse which represents the ego that everyone has (can be a good thing or a bad thing) that needs to be in control or else chaos may occur (no big deal).

I'll also tell you guys about a funny story about how the moon got its crater! Well, actually, it's funny now but at the time it happened I was pretty mad. I also cursed the moon, which probably was a bit much, but I have no regrets. The moon is still pretty salty with me and about the whole cursing thing and my believers can't look at it during the holy Hindu holiday of Ganesh Chaturthi, which kinda makes me happy. Anyway, for that story click here (will be available as soon as I add the story to another page).

I had a pretty tragic beginning story but what's life without a few ups and downs, am I right? Besides that, everything has been pretty chill. Throughout the various pages on my website, I'll include some of my most memorable experiences, some tragic, some that still make me giggle to this day, so stay tuned!

Yours truly,

Ganesha xoxo

P.S. here is a picture of me posing by my throne like a BOSS.
