Gamification. Game-based learning.

They are buzzwords often touted in our teaching world, and even more so thanks to the current pandemic. Reading them quickly, we believe that games and gamifying tasks could be a waste of time and nothing to do with helping students learn. But teachers who think gamification is simply allowing students to play games in class are wrong: gamification provides an exciting opportunity for students to engage with the topic.
