Cookie Tycoon is a great way for students to develop some of their Business Skills. This game provides the learner with an ability to think critically and creatively when making cookies. Players must ensure organizational productivity, by hiring new employees to meet increased demand for cookies and firing employees when they are being insubordinate. Financial planning is another important element in this game as upgrades to the cookie shop must be considered throughout the duration of the game. Financial Literacy skills are also utilized throughout this game. Players learn about money management, gain numeracy skills, and learn how to make financial decisions that make a positive impact on the business.
Creativity: Players must be creative when making different batches of cookies.
Communication/Collaboration: Students can learn from one another about how a specific set of business decisions, yielded different business outcomes from one another.
Critical Thinking - Players are given a limited amount of money and must be careful when allocating between food costs and labour.
