Code What You Play
Make your own video game with:
Your own artwork
An enjoyable way to learn coding
Personalized and fun game design
Starting in 2023, and once again in 2024, I founded the game development club at GDRHS, in which I wanted to share my passion for game development with others who may be interested in learning more about video games and their coding, artwork, and design.
Coding and software in general are becoming increasingly more important, and knowing even just the basics about these how these concepts work can go a long way.
It can be useful even if you don’t pursue game development specifically.
Many students already play video games, so learning these skills through a relatable medium is intuitive, interactive, relatable, and engaging without being in a very serious context.
By the end of a project, members have made a fully playable game of their own, which can be added to their portfolio.
