About this research and its objectives
This questionnaire is part of a research project being carried out to complete a Level 9 master’s degree in business informatics (Business Analytics) at Yoobee Colleges. The research is investigating how indie and small game development teams in New Zealand use business analytics techniques (commonly referred to as game analytics) during the design and development stages of their games, including both single-player and live-service projects.
What participation involves
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire containing multiple-choice, Likert-scale, and open-ended questions about your awareness, use, and experiences with game analytics.
The questionnaire is expected to take approximately between 5 to 15 minutes to complete. (The estimated completion time has been based on testing the questionnaire with a small number of people before the survey is published.)
What information is collected
This survey does not ask you to provide your name, your company's name, age, location, gender, or contact details. Your responses will be used for the purposes of this research and reported in aggregate form. We will take reasonable steps to protect your privacy and avoid including information that could reasonably identify you or your organisation in the research report.
How your data will be used and protected
Your responses will be analysed and summarised in aggregate form, such as charts, tables, and dashboards, as part of the researcher's capstone report.
Individual responses will not be published or presented in a way that could reasonably identify a participant.
Your data will only be accessed by the researcher and the academic supervisor(s), where required for research supervision or assessment purposes.
Data will be stored securely using Yoobee Colleges Microsoft Account Storage. It is important, however, to declare that your answers will only be collected through the questionnaire, any track made by google won't be accesible for the researcher.
Data will be retained for 5 years in accordance with the relevant Yoobee research and data management requirements and will be securely deleted when the retention period ends.
The research will be conducted in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and applicable institutional requirements.
Your rights as a participant
Participation in this research is voluntary.
You may choose not to answer a question where the questionnaire allows you to skip it.
You may withdraw from the questionnaire at any time before submitting your responses, without giving a reason and without disadvantage.
Because the questionnaire is designed to collect responses without directly identifying participants, once your response has been submitted, it may not be possible to identify and remove your individual response from the dataset.
