Virtual Meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 3:45-5pm
GamAware Coalition's biggest project since 2021 has been bringing mental health kits to community events. Take a Break Toolkits are portable sensory kits designed to help manage stress. Similar to small first aid kits in our cars or bags; this kit is meant to be kept available in times when our brain needs a break. The brain science of addiction and information about potential gambling and video gaming harms are built into the experience.
By offering hands-on toolkit building at community events, we teach people how to use their 5 senses to regulate emotions. These kits have proven wildly successful in reaching new audiences and raising awareness about gambling and gaming harms. The GamAware Coalition of Lane County passes out over 1,000 toolkits a year. We are looking for community members who would like to help us bring these toolkits to events.
Join us in raising awareness in our community! We are looking for new members to join our meetings and/or join us at community events. We are a fun, passionate group of people who believe that there is help and hope for every person experiencing gambling and video gaming harms.
