What is the Capstone Project Budget (CPB)?
As part of the Capstone project, every registered student can apply for the budget to cover some expenses related to the project realization.

According to the NU rules, the budget is limited to twenty five (25) monthly calculation indices (MCIs).
One (1) MCI equals 3 063 KZT. Please refer to the link.

No, the maximum CPB (of 25 MCIs) can not be exceeded irrespective of any reason/justification.
Does the CPB double if two students work in a team?
Does the CPB double if two students work in a team?
Yes, if two (2) students work in one team, then the given Capstone Project allowance doubles, i.e., it is equal to 50 MCIs.
In ECE, a maximum of two (2) students can work in one (1) team.

Yes, there is a mandatory preliminary approval. No direct budget transfer or reimbursement is possible without such an approval.
The student first needs to obtain the approvals of his/her supervisor and HoD. Afterwards, this must be forwarded to the School manager Ainur Jumagaliyeva (email) for further approval of Chief Administrative Officer and Dean.

After sending the approved request to the School manager, it takes 1-2 days to complete it.
Should the student report on the use of the CPB?

Yes, all students received the CPB must report on its use. The unused budget must be returned to the School.

For the report submission, bank statements and goods receipts must be attached.
In the case of reimbursement, do I need to provide supporting documents?
In the case of reimbursement, do I need to provide supporting documents?
Yes, the same documents (i.e., bank statements, receipts, etc.) must be provided to reimburse the amount of money spent on the purchase of consumables.
Is there any CPB restriction?
Is there any CPB restriction?
Yes. If any consumables required for the project are available in the School, these consumables must be purchased from the School.
Students should contact the SEDS Laboratory Coordinators to check the availability of the consumables.

Yes, the deadline is 1 March 2022. After this date, it is likely that Preliminary Plan will NOT be approved.
