How to get to the department

You can follow the instructions below.

To get to the department we suggest you get off at Genova Brignole Train Station.

In front of the station there is a bus stop. Those for the department are 16, 17 or 45.

If you take 16 or 17 get off at the stop
Europa 1 / Ospedale San Martino

From here you have to go up (there are stairs and a road) to Via Padre Sameria (on the opposite side from the hospital).

Here a map for you MAP 1

Once in via Sameria there is a door with the logo of the University of Genoa and a walkway leading directly to the department.

If you take 45 you have to get off at

San Martino 2 / PAPIGLIANO

Here a map for you MAP 2

To get from Cristoforo Colombo airport to Genova Brignole railway station you can take the Volabus shuttle, which crosses the city centre and runs 7 days a week. See also the airport website.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport to the city centre: unless you arrive at night, the trip should cost around 25 euros.

Restaurants close to the department

The following restaurants and pubs are within walking distance from the conference venue:

  • Pizzeria "Del Ponte", Via Pisa 3R (in spite of its name, this is really a restaurant: not just pizzas);
  • Ristorante "Al Cantuccio", Via San Martino 23R;
  • "Strike! Burger & Deli", Via Bocchella 9R (very good hamburgers);
  • Bar "Piccola Oasi", Viale Francesco Gambaro 66 (by the football pitch in front of the department building: mainly - but not only - for sandwiches, salads and cold dishes);
  • Bar "Pit Stop", Via San Martino 31R;
  • "La Piazza" Cocktail Caffè, Piazza Leonardo Da Vinci 1R.
