oNCE UPON A TIME... there was a beautiful girl named Lena.
Lena was a stunning girl, living in the gorgeous and advanced land of Xerxica, wherein dwelled a society of women called the Esthers. Each Esther had a beauty all her own, full of originality and dancing in color and light.
Lena’s beauty was milk and honey, so soft and bright and pure. Her skin radiated with shimmering warmth and her voice hummed with poise and gentleness.
Lena loved her community of Esthers-- yes, they were all she had ever known, but she had no reason to be discontent or insecure in her environment. She was seen, loved, and embraced for being herself and serving her community with her gifts. One book at a time, she explored other lands, but that was as far as she ever wanted to go outside the bounds Xerxica.
Everything was perfect just the way it was. Lena did not want anything to change in her world.
Lena saw the being in spirit before she did in the physical. When they looked eyes, it knew, too, that she saw it truly. She was scared, but did not dare let it tell.
The other Esthers thought she must be ill, so they prepared her bed for rest and gave her some Xerxican tea for sleep.
All the Esther's were blinded by the charm of the being, and sold on the promises it made. Lena was alone in her sight, but she could not unsee the being's dark spirit. In her sleep, she had a dream of confronting the being, and Xerxica being redeemed.
She awoke to an Esther shaking her shoulders,
"LENA, LENA!! They're planning an INITIATION!"
During Lena's rest, the being had convinced the Elder Esthers that a grand opposition was soon approaching to attack them, and that putting it in the leadership position was their only hope for survival. Their guards had dropped from his charm and the fear-mongering sealed the deal. All the ladies were forced to line up to be assigned their positions for battle.
