Uwang Ahadas (February 15, 1945 – October 29, 2022) was a Filipino folk musician from the Yakan people of Lamitan, Basilan, known for his mastery of traditional instruments like the gabbang, agung, and kwintangan kayu.
Born near-blind at age five, he learned music from community elders and his siblings, eventually breaking gender norms by mastering instruments traditionally reserved for both men and women.
Ahadas dedicated his life to teaching and promoting Yakan musical traditions across Basilan and beyond. In 2000 he was honored with the Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (National Living Treasures Award) for preserving this cultural heritage.
